I'd hardly call your idea 'revolutionary' but as someone already mentioned why don't you just start one big scor thread (and/or rounders), if the interest is there they'll remain close to page 1, especially if you put it in with the local discussion stuff. Either way I think the board is fine the way it is and topics related to scor or rounders can be posted up on the site and if the interest is there then they'll be posted on.

Well when I was starting that scór thread I wasn't sure where to put it in as this seemed to be just football discussion so I just put it in here and hoped for the best!

I've seen other boards messed up by trying to sub-categorise too much.

Very few people have an interest in the likes of handball and most people couldn't give a crap if Rounders disappeared altogether - the news archive on the Rounders website goes back to early 2006. After 3 years, i was visitor number 74. I've just refreshed - i'm now also number 75. 'nuff said.

Scor has plenty of fans, but it would be difficult to see the audience for more than one thread.

How come an English sport is considered part of the GAA anyway?

A few years back there was no YouTube (and its well seen that no-one here thought to create it

) but if there was a section here that dealt with the 'kick them to the back of the class cause no-one wants to know them' areas, then this could have links to YouTube videos highlighting various 'hidden' aspects of the GAA. YouTube is a powerful medium and it could help foster a new interest in these things but it also needs a community to engage in healthy discussion to keep it alive. I often find that the power of vision helps stimulate action for forgotten causes.

Is everyone here so conservative that a little change frightens you all?

The hurling board is a bit dead on here alright but I think its because this is predominantly a Norn Iron forum about football. Most topics are Armagh, Tyrone orientated and most hurling is about Antrim. Not sure how the board evolved like this but thats the way it is. Not really a gaaboard tbf.

And a seperate section for Tony Fearon, or just have him sectioned.

When I start stringing together a number of seemingly disjointed posts on a wide range of subjects that I see as GAA topics on this board I hope posters here will at least understand where the origin of these posts have developed from.

It's not about being conservative, it's about whether or not these fringe aspects of the GAA interest people. I haven't forgotten about Rounders - i just don't care about it.

Regardless of YouTube, you have said that these areas need "a community to engage in healthy discussion to keep it alive". You can start a topic on any of these aspects on this board - the forum/outlet is already there. Whether they sink or swim is going to be down to the interest people have in them.

Well it is. GAA is discussed here and anyone can join to discuss it. There may be a focus on certain counties/aspects of GAA, but it's still definitely a GAA board.
