Any year that Kilkenny are beaten is nice

In professional sport, money wins.

Why couldn't Kildare win a raffle so when they bankrupted the county and ran the most expensive setup in the country?

buying property for players and poaching players from other counties wasn't cheap either! Micko was on top dollar during the Celtic Tiger too  ;D

Niall Quinns son?

Stretch and his son are and always will be Dubs

From a Mayo perspective. Struggled through the league, the Down game being a perfect example. Struggled against Galway and paid the price. Struggled through the backdoor. Performed well against Tyrone and beat a gallant Tipp team without breaking much sweat.

Drawn final brought out the best performance of the year. Replay was awful, not the performance of the team, but nearly everything else. Then the crash after it  :'(

Except when Quinny is standing on the terrace in Thurles in a Tipp jersey supporting Tipp! ;D

Let him play with a Dublin club so.

It was nice to see Tipp winning. Not just because they beat Cody but also for Eamon O'Shea

His speech after the 2014 final was inspirational.

"I do think there are more important things (than winning). They are men who fought the battle to the end. Things did not go our way and yet the team kept going. And that is my understanding of sport and what it's about. Sometimes you don't always win. The way Tipp play now, we try until it's no longer possible. I am shattered we did not win. But it does not take anything from what was a supreme effort."

That is a model for other counties. Sometimes you do get there in the end

Truly amazed at the resilience of our bucks. I truly believed we were a spent force after the galway game , i was upset as a supporter in mchale park that evening , for this team to end such a gallant era to an average fancy dan team in our own home didnt sit right but they did us proud again despite what neutrals say, tbh they dont have a friggin clue about this team , you really have to be a Mayo supporter to understand how they just fill you with pride and at this point now i think we are in a healthy position for 17.

What did the championship give us in general? It told us you have to be an absolute gladiator of a man to be part of a top team . I think youre kidding yourself if you think the likes of Galway, Cork ,Ros etc are anywhere near the level of top four/five . Its a different world , when you look at Mayo v dublin /kerry/tyrone/donegal these last few years in the latter stage of championship and compare it to earlier rounds against  teams not in that group you really see a difference .
Walk-in down mchale rd , sun out, summers day , game day . That's all .

Not great. My own Laois relegated and didn't do much in championship.
Not many memorable games.
The game needs to try going 13 a side.
Well I could keep it above
But then it wouldn't be sky anymore

A depressing season, the gap between rich and poor is growing and the dramatic fall in attendances is worrying for the GAA. The most depressing thing of the season was Colm O'Rourke gloating about how lucky we are to have the dubs bring 30,000+ to a Leinster final.
