it probably is. it will have a bigger blade and be courser then the seeded grass. where you see it pull it out, don't worry if it disturbs your new grass  trow down a bit more seed if you want.  it spreads through the soil anyway so it can seem like a losing battle but one you start cutting it will help control it. the secret to getting a great lawn from here on is in the cutting.

cut it regularly but not to short, take off about a third and err on the long side. a good lawnmower makes a big difference.
