I think having Dublin as favorites is fair. If Tyrone for example had all their games at home then they'd be second favorites or favorites. Plus having referees favour you in 50/50 decisions should be an advantage.

You're a bitter little man

I'm just speaking the truth.

Oh tyrone never got a look in with the ref  ::).............................tyrone folk still have a bee in their bonnet, even though they beat us well in the champo manys a time, we still headed up to omagh one day in the league and kicked lumps outta ye..............  ;D

get up the yard

In fairness PaulD123 you fall into the same category as all of us with your county, no matter how hard we try to be objective it's impossible.

As for your comments on Kildare they are spot on, Kildare though are good copy and drama seems to follow them. Last year we had the Louth win, Dermot Earley Snr passing away, the demolition of Mordor and the the AIL Semi (square ball, a point waved wide, the last kick of the crossbar). This year already we've had GG's disallowed goal and the last second drama against Dublin.

Throw in the manager with a high profile who is not afraid to give opinions, articulate senior players in Dermot Earley and John Doyle , a population base of 250K where Gaelic football is number one and articles on Kildare will sell newspapers. Add this population to the fact that Kildare games tend to be good un's hence viewing figures would be pretty good.

Alas Kildare sells just wish it was due more to success than drama.

However our championship graph is rising, Kildare are close to a break through but it won't be this year.

Us talented Kildare folk excel at both:

If it wasn't for the racing folk Kildare would probably still be shipping beatings to the mighty Kilkenny in the O'Byrne Cup and our best footballers would still be leaving to win All-Irelands for Cork. Sure the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed through the late Michael Osborne who had founded the Kildare supporters club was key in bringing Mick O'Dwyer to Kildare.
There's Seán Brady going in, what dya think Seán?

Are Kerry favorites for the AI now? I know they have the Indian sign over us in Croke Park, but I have a feeling that that could end this year. Ciaran Sheehan and Colm O'Neill out injured and it still doesn't significantly weaken our panel. Fiachra Lynch, Fintan Goold, David Goold could all come in. Just because of the size and strength of our panel I think we'll win Sam again this year.

Micko would love to see Wicklow beat Cork and all of Kerry would cheer for once for someone else.

If at first you don't succeed, then goto Plan B

I have seen every top team play this year in person except Tyrone. Cork may well have the best panel but in terms of players from 2-15, I think Kerry have the most talent. It's only the players on the pitch that win the games. I think in virtually every outfield position Kerry have a players that if offered to another county they would take him (except maybe LHB).

In my view Kerry would be favourites. Cork relied heavily last year on free taking from Goulding, if you keep racking up frees then you will always have a chance of winning but the points from play ratio was well down on most other recent All-Ireland winning teams.

Fine so, lads. If we don't win the AI this year I'll happily admit I'm wrong.I'm just gving my opinion that I think we'll win.

Don't agree with you there. Kerry are better 10-15. But Cork are better 2-9. Our kick-outs in Killarney were baffling to say the least. Our midfield would have crucified Kerry if the kick-out had gone long.

Wickow beat Cork?

Applesisapples

Despite taking the foot of the gas in the last 15 against Cork, Kerry are the best team I have seen this year. Much as it pains me to say it as it means listening to Spillane waxing lyrical.
