England should have taken him, if only to personify their distress when they are dumped out of the world cup. A picture of Theo in tears would bring back memories of Paul Gascoigne weeping when they failed to make it.

But that can not now happen. As Bob Marley would have said "No Walcott No Cry"
Never underestimate the power of complaining

Quite a hostile reaction to this thread but it is something I care deeply about. I thot Theo would have been selected for his speed and enthusiasm  :o

Why does the England selection deserve its own thread, while nobody bothers with e.g. the USA?
coz therearen't thousands of sad fucks out there who think they are an essential part of the seattle sounders or DC united

Wonder will the delightful Melanie dump him now he's outta the team? If she does RH is available, even if she is English...
I think you'll have to carry on using the red hand for a while.

Geoff Hurst says Walcott will fight his way back into the squad after the World Cup. It will take determination, he says.

Rio Ferdinand says Walcott needs to use this opportunity to battle back or he could finish up in the lower leagues. He said he was dropped from Euro squad by Kevin Keegan in 2000 and he used the opportunity to battle back or he could have finished up in the lower leagues.  It will be fascinating to see what way Walcott reacts and whether he does finish up in the lower leagues.
