Does anyone else find the sight of ciaran whelan running about with fertilizer bags on his hands, and the sun splitting the stones, faintly ridiculous?!

I do too but different strokes for different folks. Speaking of strokes...

Ill never forget the night one of our guys came marching out onto the field before training in his birthday suit, with only a pair of football socks and boots on, and proceeded to stroke balls over the bar from all angles, before sprinting back in again

that was a very dangerous word to use at that juncture but I think you got away with it!

We've got the semi-final this weekend, , they have a few handy forwards that need attention, think I might try some new gloves for it

I'll tell you a good one, i know a guy who played intercounty football (now retired) and he turned up for training 1 night wearing a pair of yellow Mari Gold (don't know how it's spelt but you get my drift) washing up gloves and the laughter was unbelievable, lads were on their hands and knees with laughter.

On the issues of gloves for dry and wet, if it's dry you don't wear gloves and if it's wet you do. Simple as that, i can't understand why guys would wear gloves when the sun is splitting the stones
