He has often soloed out the ball and got caught recently in a League match where a one-two gotg intercepted and the grateful forward had an empty net to aim for.

Bookies don't think much.

Longford 9/1 (+10pts 10/11)
Draw 16/1 (10pts 13/1)
Kerry 1/20 (-10pts 10/11)

Value bet Kerry by 4-6 pts 5/1 - Kerry still work to do?

I'm going to pat myself on the back in getting the prediction right (a few bob too).

Losing Declan O'Sullivan and with Scanlon's lack of match fitness coupled with O'Se's mileage meant that Kerry lost their grip in midfield. Donaghy going off after the obvious boost that he'd given the team, especially the Gooch, was a blow too many.

To be fair to Longford they went for it and for want of more accuracy could have caused an upset.

Well where to start?

Firstly, great credit to the team/management for giving it a go in the 2nd half. Everyone gave it their all and really rose to the challenge. Thought we might be in for a bit of a hiding but showed great determination in 2nd half. This was completely missing in the Wicklow match. However, dont think we ever looked like being able to close the deal. To outlpay and outscore Kerry in championship football is no mean achievemnet and therfore should be used as platform for future.

Anyone know if team have use of sports phychologist? If Antrim can make an Ulster final, Limerick compete agisnt Cork, Fermanagh get to an Ulster final and All Ireland Semi, Weford the same, then why cant Longford be challengers. We were always able for these type of teams but so many hard luck stories over the years. Remember the Dubs 3 years ago. All this team needs is belief.

One more point, this team that lost by four is not as strong as the one that lost by 9 in Killarney in 06

Kavanagh is a one day wonder and has no pace to make it at inter county level. His biggest mistake was leaving his Longford club
