Went to the Maldives ourselves when we got married (February time). Plenty to do in terms of snorkeling, diving, watersports if you want to be kept busy. We just fancied chilling out after the wedding so did some of that stuff and a few trips (island hopping, night fishing) but spent a lot of the time by the pool drinking beer and cocktails. I suspect you might want a bit more activity so maybe a safari type thing might work. I think there's something where you can do a weeks safari and then a week in Zanzibar. Might be the job.

Getting married myself next year.
Was hoping Sth Africa around World Cup time but won't happen now,as wedding won't be till later in the year.
Instead now thinking of 10 Days in Hawaii with a stop off in Las Vegas for 4 days or so on way home.

you can head for Cancun for a few days, head down the coast and take in Belize for a few days then back to Cancun and home ;D

Cancun to Mexico/Belize border is a 4 hour bus trip, head for Caye Caulker, verry laid back spot, that'll take another 3 or 4 hours, mighty part of the world

was in Orlando this time 3 years ago. great spot only mistake we made was just spending the week. need 2 weeks minimum, so much to do. up every morning at 7.30 and not getting back to the Hotel until late in the evening. so if lounging in the sun doesnt suit you, this would be perfect.
