First "Misunderstanding" of the New Year

In fairness lads, if what EG is saying is true then ye have been in error in this thread. Humble pie must be eaten! I've never visited owc so I don't know the details of  the broader arguments about it so I ain't going to comment other than to ask EG if the comment along the lines of "all gaa people being scum" was removed from the owc forum?

Jim was never banned (nor was there ever any consideration given towards banning him by anyone on OWC). The problem is that he entered the wrong Password when he went to log on, then (presumably) misunderstood the Message which this automatically generates. Anyhow, they have now sent him a new Password and he is entirely free to resume posting.

Given that I use a password helper I am not sure how I could get the password wrong.  Also the password helper on OWC did not recognise my e-mail address either.  That said I am willing to take your explanation at face value and take "humblish" pie.

Also I did get a mail about a new validation and have since posted.  Thank you for initiative of contacting admins.

Well if OWC didn't make registering harder then a Priest joining his local Orange Lodge, I may well have checked out the site!

Will be interesting to see if the OWC contributers on this board, will comment on this incident?

Fair dues though, it only took them a day to fabricate an explanation. I believe Marty, Mac and Sammy and formed a investigation committee to find out how GCHQ (Private Pike) could get it so wrong. He's been demoted to 'switcher on and off-er when told' and Ealing Green has been promoted to intelligence officer. Firm and decisive action is what's needed at time like these - well done chaps...

The bannings aside, the bigotry of the mods and the sinister actions in posting personal details and calling to "confront" posters at their place of work then boasting about it afterwards are all undeniable facts.

I'm sure the decent NI football fans would secretly prefer decent mods running their site who dont encourage like minded folk to sign up.

I don't know what a "Password Helper" is, so I cannot comment on that query. But here, verbatim, is what the Mod messaged to me about your case:
"I see whats wrong now. JamesR entered the wrong password!
Tell him if he wishes to take part in the site, and has forgotten his password, then simply click on the "Forgotten my password" link on the main page to reset his password, this will go through to his regged email address. This would also happen if a person signs in from two diff locations in the same day. the server picks up and reads it as an attempted hack."

Being a bit of a "Techno-Idiot", I don't really understand all of this, but I do know that whatever your problems, these were to do with logging-on/passwords etc i.e. you were never banned, nor was any consideration given towards banning you by anyone at OWC, for any reason. (Indeed, speaking personally, I appreciated the contributions of "JamesR" - at least before I learned who he really was!  )
Anyhow, I'm not really bothered whether you feel obliged to eat pie - "humblish" or not - but you might amend the Thread Title again, since you cannot be "Unbanned" if you were never "Banned" in the first place.

As for a "password helper", it means my browser (not me) remembers my passwords so I don't have to remember the passwords myself.  That's why I don't type the wrong password.

However, I do log in from different locations so that might be it.

If other people want to fcuk rocks at each other, they may set up their own thread so I'm locking this.
