Sure they could have said it was sold out.

Mighten sell out though.  We all know NI supporters dont want to travel to the Maze so why would they travel across the city?

Stiffler - Linfield get 15% or revenue rather than 30% I believe.

I'm surprised to see the 'official' figure of 6 odd thousand only attending.  There were empty seats but the ground certainly didn't appear to be more than half empty.

I know many fans were boycotting this fixture.  It seems the boycott was quite successful.

Are you sure it was a boycott though?   Probably more to do with it being a crap match on a cold November night and the team being on a poor run under Worthington, even OWC fans can get apathetic you know.

5000 but only 4000 seated
Ballymena also has 4000 seats

Would it be possible to hold full internationals there?

from the ifas perspective windsor last nite- £20*6,251*0.7=£87,514

If there was tempoary seating in the standing area in mourneview then the gate receipts would have been greater.

Yes I am sure there was a boycott.  I personally know at least 2 clubs who took part.  Don't get me wrong, I'm under no illusions that Northern Ireland fans aren't any less fickle than other fans.

I predicted in the summer that the San Marino game last month would be the first home game not to sell out in years.  I was only out by one match.

Why the boycott?  IFA?  New ground?  Gripe with the manager?

To summarise, it basically comes down to the IFA treating fans as some sort of cash cow.

If Howard Wells had still been on the scene and the much rumoured original price of £30 (plus £1.50 booking fee) for the Hungary game been true, I would have had serious doubts about attending myself.

Plenty have a gripe with the manager, though I'm sure that didn't come into the reckonning.
