watched district 9 last night - still not sure what to make of it.

I thought District 9 was very good.  Very 'different' movie and the lead man was hilarious.
'To the extreme I rock a mic like a vandal, light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle.'

Dinny Breen

Recently saw Daybreakers, so much unfulfilled potential, enjoyable but plot was weak 6.5/10

Also watched the Blind Side, a great feel-good movie all the better for being a true story 7.5/10

Watched up in the Air the other night.
Clooney is fantistic in it, the story did leave you up in the air at the end though which I know is what is was meant to do, but i'd have rather seen a different ending.
Break Ball Specialist.

Saw "Invictus". Thought it was ok, rugby sequences were poor and took away from the movie. Thought Morgan Freeman was great as Nelson Mandela though, dead ringer.

Puckoon

Just watched "It might get loud"

Kind of a documentary movie in which Jack White (of the white stripes) invites the Edge and Jimmy Page to talk about the electric guitar.

Pretty interesting all in all.

Watch a DVD film called 'Sexy Beast.' It was mighty with Ben Kingsley and Ray Winston. Was made in 2000 tho I'd never heard of it. London gangsters.  Kingsley was incredible like you've never seen him.

... 'In `Sexy Beast,' Ben Kingsley delivers a bone-chilling performance as the man everyone loves to hate, a role for which he earned not only universal critical acclaim but a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination as well. Don Logan is so evil that even his fellow mobster buddies fear and hate him. From our very first glimpse of him high-strutting his way through an airport terminal, Kingsley hits just the right note for his character.'

Hell of a film.........you wouldn't have thought Kingsley had it in him, but he delivers a performance that would scare you even watching it !

Up in the Air is very good. One of the best movies of the year, well ahead of most in its genre. Half rom com and half business movie, worth takingthe girlfreind or wife to if she wants to go to a  chick flick, suggest this one.

The leading lady shows off her behind in it as a bonus.

Anyone see An Education? I've a wee thing for Carey Mulligan, so might go see it.

The acting from Carey Mulligan, Peter Sarsgaard and Alfred Molina is superb.

All the boys at work were telling me about this show, and how good it is. However I felt it tilted more towards the chick genre than I thought it would. It's watchable, and not bad, but a strange one.

I'd agree that if the woman insists on watching a girly film, watch this one.
