I'm struggling big time with the concept of christianity as espoused by Charle Kirk and his followers.

He's a devout Christian we're being told, yet he churned out hate towards a lot of marginalised groups, the blacks, the muslims, the gays, the trans, you name it.

If that's Christianity I want fúck all to do with it.

Kirk was evangelical. They are wacko. Norn Ireland also has evangelicals.

They are connected. The Ulster Protestants who emigrated to the US (mostly Scottish descended Presbyterians) became known there as the Scots Irish and massively affected the Southern evangelical culture that now dominates the Republican party.

This is true from the looks of it. And America is slowly losing the rest of the world as a result. I doubt their standing has ever been as low in public opinion as it is currently.
