To think this picture was taken 2 weeks ago, life can be desperately cruel at times. Difficult to get your head around things when you hear news like this. Heartbreaking.

Lord rest them, an awful tragedy for family and friends, and by extension for fans.  Listening to the news, and such a sad tragedy in Donegal as well.  Life is fragile, and precious, and cruel things can happen that can knock you back and put you wondering about the world sometimes.

CNN Portugal's sports editor Rui Loura gave an insight into Jota's journey while on air. "The surgery he had was lung surgery and he had been advised against flying following this," he said, as per the Daily Mail.

Loura added: "He was on his way to the northern Spanish port city of Santander to cross by ferry and reach the UK that way and carry on with the car once he reached Britain. He was on his way to Liverpool with his brother."
