trileacman

The revenant is shite. Frontier man seeks revenge against person who murders his family. Imagine in your head where that story goes and you've seen the film and saved an hour of your time. He's an outstanding actor but don't see what DiCaprio does well in it. Grunting for 2 hours isn't acting.

IMO any film that involves you escaping your pursuers by jumping in a river should be immediately discarded. It's the greatest cliche in film making and it looks like that director hasn't a original idea in his head. That's not even mentioning the Han Solo scene.

Over the Bar

The trailer for The Revenant gives away the story anyway so just watch it saved me 2 hours of my time.

Saw Creed, was better than I expected.
I have Creed, southpaw and Spectre all lined up to watch next

Thought creed was excellent and southpaw was a big dissapointment.

Spectre in my opinion never really got going, could have been great. It got alot of praise but to be honest I'm unsure why.

Aye true enough tried to ignore him as he was pretty embarrassing I guess but it was more the story that was good, saw Stallone and the other Michael B Jordan were on the Jonathan Ross show promoting it and were really funny especially stallone, the video he showed where he set the fella up Jordan to get knocked out by Bellew was harsh but funny.

Agree on Creed and Southpaw, but thought Spectre was very good.

Solace is next on my list.

Saw The Revenant last night. I enjoyed it - 7.5/10 for me.

As previously mentioned the storyline is a bit so so but visually it is outstanding!

Hateful Eight 7/10. Fairly enjoyable until it got weird!

Are you sure? I havent seen it but I think it won a Golden Globe for best original soundtrack or something like that and I recall talk about Ennio Morricone being involved in the score.

Watched solace last night.  Thought it was shite.  Poor script, some dodgy acting and bad lines.  Anthony Hopkins done his best, but even he couldn't save it.  3/10

Jesus that's nuts. You're right. I recall the music at the opening scene and after that don't recall any of it! Maybe the IPA didn't help.

Great movie.

Main Street

For those who liked the tv drama  Deutchland 83  and need another fix of  Stasi infected East Germany,  peeling brown paint, instant coffee, the reassuring rattle of a Wartburg engine etc. then Barbara (2013) is a most satisfying watch.
