Correct. Pity it didn't take place the previous Saturday especially given Rob got no game time in the hurling final. Hindsight is great, isn't it?🙂

Well, feck it anyway!!

Be good to see this getting through. The SFC lacks a bit of jeopardy and has done for a good few years now.

Well, feels like a missed opportunity for us. Going to be a tall order to win 4 or 5 games again in the SFC to get back to a final. Think there's 5, 6, 7 teams will all fancy their chances next year.

Congrats to Port. Their experience of winning it before maybe just edged it. Hope they go well in Leinster although word is they'll be down a few from last weekend's team.

Fair to say the replay never lived up to the expectations after the draw but the conditions were very difficult. As someone said, extra time the first day would have been preferable.

Very proud of our lads. They gave us a few very enjoyable Sunday evenings this year!🙂 Played some lovely football at times. The new rules didn't do us any harm anyway. Hopefully we'll hang on to everyone and give it another good go next year.

No disrespect to Crettyard but it would be good to see senior football back in a big town like Mountmellick. Whichever of them wins it should be well able hold their own at senior.

The next round of the leagues might be a bit more interesting as teams might have county players and be a bit closer to full strength.

Incredibly flat performance. Lucky in some ways not to lose by more but from where I was standing Kelly's red card looked harsh. Hyland dropping like a stone didn't help him.
Coughing up the two goals like we did was infuriating.
Thought we might have gone to the bench sooner.
The lads will probably benefit from a week or two back with their clubs before regrouping for the Tailteann Cup.

The local sports media landscape would be a lot poorer without Laois Today.
The Leinster Express has declined badly in recent years and the Laois Nationalist is patchy enough too.
The Laois GAA website isn't great but their Facebook is decent enough and I believe their Twitter/X is good too (I'm blocked myself😀).
I think Laois Today is the least of of our problems.

Can only comment on our game last weekend as didn't see the other three.
It was a tall order for Courtwood to win that game being without Donoher and Hogan on top of the lads who are unavailable this year (Collins, Luttrell and Luke Doran).
But Ballyroan Abbey never really put the game to bed and paid a huge price getting caught with that late goal.
Thought Colm Walsh, Diarmuid Whelan and Davin McEvoy were their best players. Sean O'Flynn rightly grabbed the headlines but his brother Paul and Cian Doyle were also very good for us.
The draw could've been kinder for the next round though!🙂

Alan's getting better with each game. He only played his first game shortly before the league final so each game he plays from now on is bound to bring him on.
