There are major GAA areas in Derry with no hurling. Mainly Maghera, Magherafelt, and the loughshore (St Finbars will hopefully make inroads to an extent) people within clubs Glen, magherafelt, Ballinderry, Newbridge etc what are your views on starting hurling has it ever been discussed within the club? Do you honestly think it would hinder football progress. In my opinion having three more hurling clubs in the right areas would establish Derry as a mid level Joe McDonagh team at the minimum.

Derry GAA are letting down club players with absolutely non-existent coverage of the Derry leagues. Clubs have played 14 rounds of the league and there has been absolutely ZERO coverage. There was a Facebook post saying the leagues started and will probably be one showing each team with the trophies. During the league there has been absolutely no word on social media of how the games have played out, who the scorers are, no mention of the split, no mention of Banagher getting promoted—ZERO. In this time Derry social media has posted multiple times about Derry city soccer and Limavady United (no issue with soccer as county board has good relationship with them 💴), however posting about this and not GAA clubs is shambolic. A quick comparison to Armagh will allow us to envy how they are streaming games every week with commentary and analysis. On Facebook and Twitter they are posting league tables, form tables, scores from players, interviews with players. DERRY CAN'T EVEN POST THE FIXTURES OR RESULTS ON FACEBOOK.Is it any wonder Armagh are a better supported county when this is the difference in coverage.

Only 3 Derry clubs availed of the GAA hurling start up packs. Faughanvale Magilligan and Castledawson the county could really do with a few more clubs introducing hurling.

What's going wrong in Lavey hurling  cant seem to escape junior since the rejigging of the grades
How long will it be until St Finnbars competing in junior hurling?
