I really fear for the newly crowned Antrim champions in Ulster. That was dreadful.

Spot on Bannside, I've seen a good portion of empty seats in the stand this past number of finals. The prawn sandwich brigade, you would imagine, will be doubled this year given one of the finalist too.

Bannsides reaction is understandable and human, rightly or wrongly. I'm sure we've all been there to some degree.

But if you can't win a game of football which you were that heavily favoured for in over EIGHTY minutes of play between normal and extra time, then you've absolutely no one to blame but yourselves.

Cargin v St Brigids final. Best two teams in the County at the moment.

Apparently he was fit and available for a good few games towards the end of the season but Doran didn't fancy him. Baffling.

Such a disappointing second half showing, didn't get to grips with using the breeze at all. Looked like a hindrance more than a help. Have to credit Cargin none the less. The better team won. No excuses at all, but a terrible venue and timing for a game that big.

Quote from: inabsentia on September 14, 2026, 11:20:08 AMIs the cargin v creggan minor match this past weekend a predictor this weekend?

cargin 7-17
creggan 0-3

I would hardly think so. Tough day at the office for the lads, Cargin got a march early on, and to be fair to them, never let up. Some very good football played but our lads (understandably) gave up the ghost early into the second half which didn't help.

A much tighter affair to come on Friday I would expect. But Cargin are huge favourites.

Big difference between knockout football and group round robin dross

Anyway, when do ballymena play Cargin?

Ach away on! Only for your aunty having no balls she'd be your uncle

Been at a number of Tyrone club games there from Junior to Senior at the weekend. The pace is frightening!

Again, big difference in knockout football and the monotony of group fixtures in Antrim.

Building consistently?

Did you not lose all your championship games last year and narrowly survive a relegation play-off over aldergrove?

But yeah, you'll have no problem this weekend against the league champions  ;D

My my my, The All Saints brigade seem to be getting way ahead of themselves! I am hopeful of a stark reality check for them this weekend. We haven't lost too much sleep after a tough but fair loss to a good Jonnies side. Just weren't at it on the day. There'll be no repeat of that this time round.

As much as it would be easy to jump on the County's 'McCann favouritism' train, even I cant make an argument against that decision being overturned. I was at that game and I have seen the video. There was indeed a headbutt or 2, none coming from a Cargin player however. I agree with the previous poster, the way that Moneyglass team were sent out to 'play' was disgraceful, and quite laughable in fact, but for the fact a guy's season was ended as a result, not to mention the disruption to his work and personal life.

Hopefully some lessons are learned.

Quote from: YoungSaff on September 01, 2026, 09:06:01 AMI don't think the championship has been that bad this year !

You will always have your top teams and bottom teams every year. The format is actually fine however a few double headers etc would be good to boost attendances and create an atmosphere. Any game I've attended this year tend to have a bit of bite to it with the loosing team tending to stay in the game until the final 10/15 where experience and a bit of squad depth helped pull them away.

After the groups it will heat up obviously as it is do or die then and I think there might be a few surprises on the horizon!

Moneyglass pumped by 12 in both games, likely to be pumped by even more in their last game.

Sarsfields sitting on -62 score difference after 2 pumpings

Rossa pumped by 20 points by half a Dunloy team

St Pauls pumped by 22 at the hands of Ballymena and 10 by PG1

TNN pumped by 14 by half a Dunloy team

Cracker of a championhsip mate!  ::)

We won't hold our breath.

Anyone know what game/games if any, are being streamed this weekend?

Back door format is the only way to go in my humble opinion. 2 chances max and your gone. Let league placing directly impact championship seedings, home venue etc. And let county players play for their club AND their county, how about that for a mad idea.
