QuoteBoth staff members were fully vaccinated, receiving their second doses in February and neither have symptoms of any sort,

FFS
Seems odd. Why were they even tested if they were fully vaccinated and had no symptoms? Doesn't add up.

Im working on the Construction of the New Childrens Hospital - testing once weekly. General Rule of thumb is you dont get tested if you have previously been positive or have been vaccinated

On the look out for a lawn mower and strimmer, live in a semi detached house so lawn front and back are quite small so don't need anything too expensive, just reliable and gets the job done, any suggestions online or elsewhere??

Screwfix has a couple of mountfield mowers at really good value - go with a petrol one - saving a few quid on the battery ones will only give you a headache

Is it still the case where these PCN letters aren't worth the paper they're printed on? Got one in March for Starplan carpark Boucher road belfast. It's a free carpark, but is "customer parking only"

Onto my 3rd letter now. They want £170(!) or it'll go to "QDR Solicitors Ltd".

Just want to be sure ignoring them is the way to deal with them. To hell with paying that sort of money for 30minutes parking. Of course I wasn't the driver at the time and refuse to divulge who was  8)

The letters will keep landing for around a year or so.  They'll eventually offer a reduced fee and if you ignore this they'll hike it up again. They'll threaten court action.  Few people pay.  Ignore and they'll stop eventually.

Weirdly received a letter from a debt recovery company today(actually they had sent it to my old address).
This was for a parking charge notice from 2016. I think at that time in 2016 they had sent me a number of letters which i ignored. Various threats of increasing charge, then decreasing it if i paid, then passing it on to their legal department who tried the same approach. Went for about 12 or 13 letters.
This one is from a diiferent company but i expect it is the same lot.
       Anybody else received these?

Ring them, say the debt is not valid and this will be your only correspondence on the matter. Debt collectors are not to be ignored

Ringing them and discussing such matter is taking ownership of the debt however - do not ring

General discussion / Re: Career Change

For the like of trades, the easiest way of a change of career is delving into Health & Safety. More often than not you may be seen as the bad guy on site, however with the amount of jobs and attractive salaries available its a no brainer, especially for anyone looking to get off the tools.

If you have knowledge of the construction industry as a tradesman, you will already have the knowledge - training you receive will enable you to use your knowledge to the correct way for the job (H&S).

A course such as NEBOSH Construction, matched with 5+ Years construction experience would enable anyone to walk into a H&S job circa 50k Euro - if you can talk the talk when you get your qualification then your opportunities will be endless

I see from midnight its 6 penalty points for driving on the phone and 200 pound fine.

Driving with the phone to your ear should be treated the same as driving drunk. It's just as dangerous.

Agreed. What cars dont have built in phone system these days?

Regarding all above;

I was caught on the M1 at Drogheda - i simply asked what's the process about transfer of points/fines etc - i was not trying to dodge or not pay or use my "6 county status" - so i have incorrectly used this topic fair enough.

absolutely i deserve the fine i will get and will pay it.

alright alright - i wasnt asking for a keyboard lecture.

I was doing a couple of MPH over the limit - happy to pay the fine.

Simply wondering about transfer of points etc.

For anyone slating - yeah i was a couple of MPH over, i dont condone speeding

Talk about crying and winging - first time offence

Anyone had any issues with ad blu in Mercedes?

The wife has a 2015 c class - ad blu indicator came on a fortnight ago, add within 400 mile or something. I put add blu in and the light never went off.

Put another 10l.in on wed night and just assumed it was grand.

Phone call yesterday saying the car wont start now... But could be 20l of adblu in it!

Bought myself a De'Longhi Coffee Machine - after a recommendation from a co worker

Espresso/Double
Small Coffee/Large Coffee
Milk Frother

Think its the bees knees, I trial different types of coffee beans each week, could spend £10 on 1kg of Beans, do in and around 2-3 weeks. Its a great job, dont know why i didnt get one before now. Worth every penny - used to stop and get a coffee most mornings, absolute muck. Have a good travel mug.
