Nearly 10 years late to the party but True Detective Season 1was one of the best series I have watched in along time Harrelson and McConaughey  were outstanding in it (doubt the Louisiana tourism board would have enjoyed it as much through)

It finished brilliant. If I remember right, first 5 or 6 episodes were slow enough though. The jumping back and forward through the years added alot to it too.
Yep it was a slow burn for the first  few episodes but so worth it ,  also had one of the most unnerving/creepy antagonist's in any series/film I have seen

Tyrone under 20s are different gravy, they are a shoe in for Ulster and quite likely back 2 back All Irelands, so to remain reasonably competitive in Healy Park yesterday for long periods was an achievement of sorts. You can see three or four talents in the Antrim squad that will progress to senior level in the next few years, that's definitely encouraging and fair play to Niall Jackman, his backroom team and county games development officer Paddy Kelly for delivering a programme that is properly facilitating that.
Tyrone probably favourites but wouldn't agree them as a shoe in , Derry Minors won the 2020 all Ireland minor title  and should be very competitive this year

EOC can you confirm or deny any truth in this? Your "Naw Nothing" response previously looks wide of the mark. Aren't Burkes half Cargin to begin with?? Other half Newbridge.
Tiernan  transferred the us  a few years back but only stayed for one year (they would be first cousins of the Burke's who played for us)

Any recommendations on pubs close to the aviva to grab a few pints before the game?( We Are on the red route /Bath Road entrance )

All pubs will be lively of course, Searsons great for a stout, sip it outside, good atmosphere. 10/12 mins dander then to Bath Avenue
Searsons a good option. It'll be busy but big enough to cope. The crowds in places like Slatterys nearer the ground are just silly.
Thanks For the suggestion , ended up meeting friends in The Crowes Pub which was a bit of a dander back to the red route but wasn't too busy it was a hell of a game

Someone needs to do a mini series or documentary on the Kerry club football structure at this stage!!  ;D

One of the old threads from 2019 had plenty good explanation on it in fairness.

The main by products of the whole thing that stand out to me are
1.Every club player in the county, regardless of level, gets a chance to play in County Senior championship and
2.Average Kerry club player gets a guaranteed 20 games a year due to the structure. County league (taken seriously), County club championship (Senior, Intermediate, Premier Junior, Junior), County Senior championship, Divisional leagues (North Kerry league, south Kerry league etc), Divisional championships - played at end of year.

If anyone wants to ask anything about it work away and I'll do my best though.
What is the difference between Junior and Premier Junior (and which one did Fossa win

Guessing I missed the hype about The Morning Show on Apple TV, only watched S1 there recently, great show, very preachy but good, allstar cast. Just starting S2. (Got 6 months free through Sky rewards,so will watch everything going b4 June!)
Same re. Morning Show. We started it ages ago and wasn't fussed but gave it another rattle at the weekend and on episode 6 now.
Slow Horse's with Gary Oldman is definitely worth checking out on Apple , excellent show

CCC £3.30 a pint, shopping how it should be
There's a lot to be said for the 3Cs!
Would avoid Muriel's & Spaniard (begrudgingly). Muriel's has gone downhill by all accounts. Same crowd that have ruined the Chester on Antrim Rd. I always liked the Spaniard but I now avoid out of principle.
Also avoid all the Beannchor bars (Ulster Sports Club, Dirty Onion, The National, Merchant/Cloth Ear/Bert's) unless overpriced shite surrounded by w@nkers is your vibe. Both JK & Beannchor have been known to treat staff like shit.
Thirsty Goat is a hit or miss. Drinking in a beer garden is grand for the summer but for the other 363 days it's grim. Awful for food.
Bootleggers is a no - hipster shite. Grannie Annie's actually not bad and would appeal to the culchie clientele.
Tipsy Bird is good if you want somewhere intimate for cocktails, only good when it's dead though (unless you like waiting ages for a drink).Love & Death is a bit livelier but good cocktails, younger crowd so be warned. The Perch - shite, I imagine Rita's isn't much better.
Harp Bar is what it is, Duke of York same, two decent  spots.
Jailhouse & Henry's are good (partly owned by Devenish crowd), Northern Whig a good stopping point for food & cocktails, White's Tavern (also part owned by Devenish crowd) has had big money pumped into it and have heard good reports.
Revolucion de Cuba is a big no, it's the McDonald's equivalent of a bar, it's a shame Cafe Vaudeville was replaced with that crap.
McHugh's is so-so, never hear much about it these days.
What I will say about Belfast, there is not one establishment in the city worth queuing up for, and there's a huge selection of bars to cater for most tastes.
The Deers Head was a new one for me over Christmas, enjoyed it to be honest  and will be back again
