Its very hard to bet against Ballyhale, but for a goal in stoppage time they would be going for 4 in a row. However they did concede that goal in stoppage time and a lot of the team have serious miles on the clock, TJ, Colin fennelly, Joey Holden. There may be the odd weakness there. The longer Dunloy stay in the game the more nervous Ballyhale will become.
Dunloy are a serious side and have bulked up well in the last couple of years, they looked really well conditioned in the Antrim championship. They have a very good age profile and will be there or thereabouts for the next 5 years but that doesn't matter on Sunday.
I actually secretly fancy them on Sunday, I think getting the Slaughtneil monkey off their back was huge and now they can relax and open their shoulders and express themselves. When Dunloy got to their first final in 1995 they had the game virtually won on a terrible day in Croker, I see this game as something similar I just hope they can get over the line this time.
Ballyhale have far too many all irelands, they don't need need another, Dunloy to pinch it in the second half late on.

There were 3 or 4 fringe Dunloy players  - McTaggart, McKeague, McKinley and McGrath were among them. Not sure if McKinley played but McKeague started and the other two came on I think. There's a saffron gael report. Good to see the county help Dunloy a bit tbh.

Down getting beat by Queens was an interesting result though I think it was a down man scored the winning goal against them.

It was Down men who scored all the goals.

Not quite, young McClean is from Ballycastle which is about as far from Down as you can be in Antrim without moving to Rathlin!

Sean Dyche to take over?
If the Everton board have any sense, yes. Previous performance of Everton board seems to suggest no.

Just heard Gilly Mc Ilhatton has passed away...A legend in our county....
May his Saffron Soul Rest in Peace...
Gilly was the heart and soul of his club for many many years. So many great stories about him as a mentor.
RIP

Young lad Ferguson came on at centre forward for Brighton the other night against Arsenal, looked lively and scored a good goal. Does anyone know much about him, how is he doing with the under age teams? Could he be a decent centre forward in the making?

is squad announced?

Seen some new Rossa men, some younger Cargin lads, less Lamhs players, some new and old St Brigid's ones, good representation of Moneyglass players, not many from PG1 and the usual Creggan lads, couple of aghagallon, one from my club, was hoping more, one from the Johnnies

Would imagine squad will be announced in the new year when they can actually start training

Happy New year folks.....glad to hear Michael Mc Cann is set for a visit with a surgeon soon....no plans on retirement in the immediate future.....

Requiring surgery doesn't sound overly positive for County football this year either CB!

County football is a question.....but must wait and see.....
One of the many advantages of the split season is that club players can have operations in December/January and be fully fit and available for club championship come August. Obviously doesn't work so well for county footballers like Mick who are on the go 12 months a year but in the longer term I could see it extending the playing career of quite a few club players.

Maguire to spurs ? That would free up considerable cash for wages.
If Spurs are willing to cough £50m bite their arm off, can't see that happening with Levy though, probably offer £20m which is nowhere near enough for a current England starting player.

Another Elon PR stunt he has to step down as Twitter CEO otherwise Tesla would be fucked and the shareholders will revolt.

Will be interesting to see who replaces him!
Whoever it is will be CEO in name only. Elon will be stuck in the middle of it all.
Elon needs to re-employ his entire engineering team who he sacked on the first day, lots of glitches in using it since he took over. Plus lots of adds that are of ne relevance to me as well.

How much could Celtic fetch for him? A list of prestigious named to be chasing him, and still 3.5 years left on contract.
Post World cup in the ball park of £25-30m. As far as I recall Teirney went for £25m so that's where the bidding should start.

The space in the forward line definitely helped Dunloy in the second half.

Once they get a chance to run at the defence they are hard to stop.

Greta win for them
The one thing Dunloy definitely have in abundance is pace. It should be a great final with the pace energy and ability of the Dunloy forwards against the experience and guile of the Ballyhale back line. Plus throw in TJ, Colin Fennelly plus Adrian Mullen for firepower at the other end it has all the makings of a cracker.

The problem isn't having lesser bans and now increasing them isn't going to stop it, as its a in the moment thing, someone who's a header isn't thinking about how long he's going to be out for..

Its seems to be more of a cultural thing now, the comments you read in social media when topics like this go up will give you some insight to the dafties we have in our games/clubs/parishes

Responsibility and fines should be given to the person that's getting pulled, not just bans, fine them and if they don't pay it the club pays it, the club won't be too long getting rid of these hallions at their grounds/clubs/sidelines

Bans used to be longer, I know a couple of our club members got 5 year bans for assaulting a referee in the late 70s.
