Sean og is waiting on UEFA to announce that they will move the CL Final back to it's rightful spot on a Wednesday night.

I'll be in Kiev.

Wayne Rooney went to see Sir Alex Ferguson earlier.

"His speech is improving and he is learning to string a sentence together" said Ferguson.

I will be voting NO. It's only the second time in my life that I will have voted and I'll be 50 later this year, so it's something I feel very strongly about.

Indeed. Even after all the improvements in stadiums, stewarding, policing there is a small core of scumbags attached to many clubs. It used be called the English disease but all over the continent in places like Poland Italy Hungary these so called "Ultras" who, when they behave are seen as providing atmosphere, are acting the bollix and creating threatening environments at games and outside the grounds. What is the point of going to matches if you have to enter an environment of heavy security, searching etc?

You've obviously never been to a European away game where heavy security, searching etc is the norm. Some of it can be quite heavy handed and on almost all occasions totally uncalled for. There are of course exceptions to the norm, Villa Real being one that stands out as being very relaxed, but I find the Spanish police to be as bad and in many case worse than the Italians.

I was at a Juve - Real Champions League game in Turin, and the searching was laughable. In the stand the Madrid fans were set up above left of the Juve Curva, where we were, and for most of the game missiles rained down on us, including lit flares. One hit me, burned my jacket and melted the seat it then landed on.

Juve fans must have recognised you as one of the Offaly Ultras. Lot of bad blood between the two groups.

Carlingford is an awful kip. A once lovely town infested by Stags and Hens, you can't move from Friday to Monday for them on a normal weekend, never mind a bank holiday and it's like Andytown in July. Fat women in 4 inch heels and too much make up getting airlifted off the mountain. Locals can't afford houses, they are all on Airbnb now. People in Omeath are now advertising their houses as being in Carlingford. For those who don't know it, Omeath is like Tenko with added inbreeding and slightly more despondency, with a bit of luck Brexit will bring a hard border and no one will ever pass Davey's Pub again.
€15 for a one way trip on the Scenic Carlingford Ferry over to Greencastle. I'll repeat that €15 and we complain about prices for the national league. At least there's a chance when they get as far as Greencastle they won't be back, they'll never get out of Kilkeel alive.

You're describing as a kip a beautiful seaside town, nestled in mountains,  with proper heritage and at least half a planning policy, good amenities, proper food and drink options, and only 15 minutes from the motorway. What chance does anywhere else have?

It's picture postcard perfect until you get out of the car, the entire village has been regenerated on the back of hens and stags. Half a planning policy that allows gaudy pubs and a sky park, but it's almost impossible to build a house there, ask Rob Kearney. You'll only hear a local voice in any of the restaurants from Tuesday to Thursday. Dans Cafe is closing at the end of the month, no doubt it'll be replaced by another over priced bistro full of hairy faced liberals with their latte macchiatos and lentil soup.
There are of course exceptions, the wonderful Ghan House being one, but they are becoming rarer and rarer. Even Lilly Finnegan's is now infected with them, Longs too, when it opens.

Despite relegation to Division 3, it has to be said that Sean og is doing a magnificent job and I really hope that he is returned for another term when his current term is up.

O Hanlon has started 2 games
Played 5 minutes on Sunday?
What does McParland bring to the table? Why can't you answer that?
You believe Donnelly has played well?Against who?
We have gotten destroyed at midfield against
Louth
Cork
Clare
Meath
Cavan

Done ok against Roscommon as they had a midfielder sent off after 8 minutes.
You are talking absolute crap.
Wobbler talks a lot of sense

I've been to every game this year bar Roscommon and I think the Meath game was probably the first time that we had the better of things at midfield. Our problem is that our play was too one dimensional in Navan and Meath were easily able to nullify  any threat that we could have posed. No harm to anyone, but barring frees, Donal O'Hare offers nothing from open play at this level. He looked like he had been left on the field from the primary school game at half time  during the second half.
We have a terrible habit of repeating the same mistakes over and over again and not just on the playing field. While the man in the hat has a job for life nothing will change.
