Kilcoo is appealing the sending off on Saturday and a delegation of high-ranking club officials will be in headquarters this weekend.

It's a shame for choc that he's missing, but it'll be yet another absolute stain on the GAA's disciplinary processes if an appeal is successful.

For if smacking a man in the jaw on national tv doesn't deserve a suspension, then we should just get rid of suspensions completely.

He won't have faced anything like he will against kilcoo. They'll be like flies round shite. They won't allow him to dictate things. Same for Glass.

The amount of Irish folk reading, listening to siding with the right wing these days is very surprising. They really are making hay (someone on here predicted as much at the start of the pandemic)

I don't know of anyone who supports lockdowns, I'm for taking the vaccine and moving on, but if this new mutation causes more deaths, then some restrictions need to be looked at, more community testing followed by isolating if infected

The headcases dont want restrictions or the vaccines when it's clear that we need one or the other. My preference would be that people vax up and we don't need to go in and out of restrictions as they leave terrible uncertainty for business owners and employees, especially around hospitality and retail. I had to use my Covid app last Saturday when out for lunch and not once did I feel like I was being asked for my papers in Nazi Germany.

Felt that way to me tbh. Disgusting.

In great Down GAA fashion, the begrudging has started already. I would like to wish the best of luck to James, Aidan, and their team. Thankfully this torment is over and we can look forward to 2022.

That was a massive result for Man Uniteds season. Knock out champions league where anything can happen and things could look a whole lot differently in February. Importantly it means they also avoid Thursday night Europa League football.

Would they have got the same result under Solakjaer? The way things had slid I'm not sure they would have which is a part indictment on the players too. I don't think anyone believes Carrick is the answer long term but if they get a decent result against Chelsea on Sunday he could well be in the managers chair for a bit longer yet.

Agree with this, DDG kept them in it and it would have been a different story had Utd not been gifted a flukey goal.

Some turnaround from McIlroy today, from 9 back to leading in 3 hours.

The run of games after the international break and the 6-1 loss to Spurs last year looked horrendous too and they went and beat PSG and Leipzig (5-1 in that game), drew with City and put together a pretty excellent run of results that had them 1st by January.

However the team (with the exception of CDM) is now far better and they still struggle against any defensive team, so I think a lot of fans are leaning towards Ole out. The flipside is it's usually individual mistakes and poor execution of the manager's tactics that is costing them - but they still look slow and out of ideas against the "low blocks" if they don't get an early goal and force them out.
