GAA Discussion / Re: NFL Division 1 2024

Shane McGuigan, all star footballer, probably in the top 3 forwards in the country misses a free, that he scores 19 times out of 20 and we suddenly need a left sided free taker? He's not handing that one over to anyone to hit. Plenty of boys there that could have knocked it over as well.

Quote from: Wildweasel74 on February 04, 2024, 05:47:40 PMDerry need sort out the right foot free taker, easy one missed today due to this, a man who can consistently  score 45, learn Conor McCloskey to actually shoot (He was in position to score 3 pts from close enough range)Reserve keeper nowhere near as good as Bradley from Glen as Back up.When McGuigan has a bad game he really does, no in-between. Derry still need a target man to slot in between McGuigan and Murphy.
Jesus WW you have to be one of the most negative supporters I've come across.

Should be boycotting it. Although that probably wouldn't even be noticed in America.

No doubt I am SF biggest critic on here but this is the right decision, they have to go. As should all parties. America is integral to the Irish economy and while I do not condone in any way what the US is doing in conjunction with Israel you have to recognise that there is a bigger picture. Imagine if American companies pulled out of Ireland?

Politics is sometimes about being a grown up. If SF have any designs on being the party of government then you cannot snub America or the EU or Britain. They are huge global economies with a massive impact on Ireland.

Anyone that thinks Ireland's foreign policy will change much under SF is in for a big disappointment.

If they do get in they'll be under serious pressure to be strong on condemning Israel. (Well depending on whether it's even a hot topic by the time theres an election.) Vast majority of SF support will be massively pro Palestine.
Would it not be fair to say that the vast majority of the Irish public is massively pro-Palestine?

Green green grass and especially shotgun by George Ezra.  The wanes love it, but the lyrics are shite. Just a good singer rhyming nonsense to a catchy tune

Quote from: HiMucker on January 14, 2024, 06:15:56 PMFolks got the wee men tickets for Luton game Sat 24th Feb. Problem is if Liverpool get to the final of the league cup which is looking likely, the fixture will be moved to I'd imagine a near definite mid week day later in the season. Would any of yous have an idea from past experience of when that likely would be? Just to get an idea for flights and that.

First midweek gap assuming they get through in FA cup and Europa League is around 23rd - 25th of April.

I think the rule is that fans get 6 weeks notice for a rearranged game.
Good man, thanks

Whoops. Did I say that out loud?

That challenge I heard was to be played this afternoon in Longford.
I heard it was Longford as well.
I heard the Saudis are offering Armagh big money to host it.

I think mist and fog always looks far worse in TV and pics than live.

Quote from: SHEEDY on December 16, 2023, 09:52:55 PMGlad to see St Thomas win it but still think penalties is poor way to decide it
Look it's a great wee debate that and I can see why people don't like penalties to decide and prefer a replay or more additional time. Personally I think it's a great way, finish on the day. The way I see it you could argue that a team that get through via a replay could come up against a team that never needed a second chance on their way to a final and beat them by bit of luck or whatever. You have your chance on the day to put a team away and if you don't you take the lotto of penalties which you still have control over. I think it's extremely fair.

Was there any stoppages during the 2 mins of extra time? Thought the ref could have easily blown it with Thomas winner
