If we were getting Berbatov then I wouldn't mind losing Saha, as he is too injury prone and pushing 30 aswell.  Saha has been great when fit, but he seems to be as bad as Darren Anderton.

What planet have you arrived from today Nrico?

I'd agree with Nrico..I think Saha has been very good when fit, he has an unreal burst of pace over the first few yards, excellent in the air and good at getting in behind the defence, he adds an extra dimension to the team that no one else in the squad is capable of adding.

On the downside however he is obviously very injury prone, can have a bit of a lazy attitude and tends to blow the load when he has a lot of time to finish a chance. I wouldnt really be that interested in signing Berbatov though, technically he is excellent but he also comes across as having a bit of a lazy attitude 2, I could see him flopping if he moved to a big club, also for a big man he's not that great in the air and doesn't have the burst of pace that Saha has...If I was Ferguson I'd be looking outside of the premiership for a striker...apart from Anelka maybe but I wouldn't pay big money for him with his track record

If that is the team...then the only real issue I have with it is Whelan....he was outplayed and outclassed in the Derry and Kerry matches.
And he only played in spells against Meath. I just dont get why he's so highly rated when there are at least half a dozen better midfielders in the country.

Half a dozen midfielders in the country better than Whelan...who's the 6??
Whelan destroyed Derry in the first half and then Doherty came out and dominated the second half...they both had their periods of dominance that day, was very impressed with Doherty that day but didn't see enough of him to know if he warrants an All - Star.

One midfielder I did see being outplayed and outclassed was Dara O'Se against Monaghan though...and he wasnt great against Dublin either...Shane Scanlon was far better

Dont think he deserves the All-Star

QuoteCLuxton did well against Derry

Maybe Ross McConnell should get the goalie allstar.

That was actually Barry Cahill who made that brilliant goal line block against Derry...

I'd question Canty & Whelan while Cluxton and Cahill simply do not deserve to be there. This scheme has become a complete joke.

Barry Cahill definitely deserves to be there, he had an excellent season from start to finish, I'd be very surprised if thats the actual 15 but I'd also be very surprised if Cahill doesnt get one tonight.

Regarding Cork, they only deserve to get 1...

Last weekend a few lads in the house were drinking stella, they had 10 bottles then headed out, when they came up they started jocking each other and ripping each others boxers off?? Is that just the stella or is there something else behind it??

My guess would be that it was not the stella behind it but that these guys are in fact closet homosexuals who after a few beers became more releaxed and let their homosexual tendencies get the better of them.

Stella does have a serious effect on some people and has been known to cause people to act the eejit and damage stuff but it would not have the power to cause a bunch of lads to rip the boxers off each other and roll around the room naked - that can only be put down to being a homo!!

Were you involved in this homosexual activity Davitt Man??

My guess is ( after seeing a certain picture of you groping a fellow player in the mayo news ) that you were a willing participant.

You should try out this site, it could be of help to you:

Ross Donovan of Sligo definitely should be there.if he was a Dub we'd be sick listening about him

Now that you mention it Ross Donovan actually is a Dub...moved to Sligo when he was a young fella...

In the second half of the Dublin Derry game when B Brogan knocked the ball down to Alan who then kicked it over the bar Kevin McStay came out with the following comment:

"Great link up play by the Brogan brothers there, thats obviously something they have worked on together up in the.......bedroom "

Senior Championship is on this weekend and next weekend alright, I dont have any fixture details however except for our own - Ballymote v Curry Sat 5:00 p.m in Tubbercurry.

As regards the following weekend I know they want to have all the Senior Championship on the Saturday but these fixtures haven't been set yet.

We lost by 3 points to Harps in a poor enough game on the weekend...thats the only result I have.

Its back up today...

Theres no fixtures up for the weekend of Aug 18/19 yet but senior champ must be on that weekend.

Also. just in case anyone didn't know there is a notice up outlining the fact that there will be no play offs in the championship this yr in the event of teams finishing level on points:

No Play Offs In Club Competitions

Consult this year's Fixture Booklet '07 pages 69/70-Following a decision of Congress 2006, no play offs are allowed in Club Competitions Where teams finished with equal points for qualification for the concluding stages, the tie shall be decided by the following means and in the order specified subject to (a) below :-

(1) Scoring difference (subtracting total Scores Against from total Scores For)

(2) Higest total Score For.

(3) Where 2 (two) teams are only involved in the tie - the outcome of the meeting of the    previous game in the competition.

Clause (a) If disqualifications, Retirements or Walkovers materially affect the outcome of the Points Total (Scores) in the League Stage of a Championship, there shall be Play Offs to determine qualification for the concluding stages of the Championship

O'Leary was good that day alright but he was being marked by Sean Davey who did not pick him u at all, Davey scored two points himself that day but left O'Leary totally free to do even more damage down the other end, I couldnt see him doing as much damage if Curran or Egan are picking him up...

Quirke is also a great man to have coming back in...

Sligo county board announced that they have sold 10,000 tickets so I'd say there should be 12 to 13k sligo fans at the game, cant see Cork bringing many at all they usually dont unless some of them decide to make a weekend of it and come up for the football and hurling. I would expect a big crowd from Meath and a fairly decent crowd from Tyrone as well, Overall I'd say there will be about 55 to 60k there between the two games.

Sligo and Cork announced their teams - Sligo have named the same starting 15 while Cork have made two changes with Quirke coming back in to goals and Noel O'Leary coming in at wing half back - thats two good players coming in for them.

So does this mean there's definitely no Senior championship games on the weekend of Aug 11th/12th?? Or could this fixtures be updated if Sligo lose on Sunday??

Meath to win at 5/2 is definitely the bet of the quarter finals...can see Ward cleaning up in midfiled...been very impressed with him so far this year, Meath have a great forward line as well, so if Ward does dominate midfield the lads up front will be well able to post a big enough score to win the game if they play like they have been so far this year

The worry is with the Meath backs I suppose...Are Harrington and Kenny definitely out?? Would the Meath lads here regard these 2 players as a big loss?? Or have ye good players on the bench to come in for them???

Good draw for Sligo if you ask me...think I would have taken Cork over Meath or Derry...hopefully its a nice low scoring game, could see us winning in that situation, obviously Cork are favourites but you'd never know, 5 - 1 on is a bit much in fairness...
