GAA Discussion / Programme Fair
November 08, 2015, 09:47:59 PM
Might be of interested to some posters:

I have decided to hold a Sports Memrobilia & Programme fair on 21st November in Belmont Co Offaly.
This is open to sell all Memorabilia & Programme's for all sports.
I have set a sellers price at €10 a table and collectors entry will be €2 an adult. Under 18s are free.
All monies raised will be for our local High National School for future development of a badly needed sports field.
On the day I would like to have a draw with some spot prizes again to raise money for the school

Any bookings or questions can be sent to gaafan23@hotmail.com

"They'll thrive in the wide  open spaces of Croke Park" - its not even the largest in terms of length/width  in the country, surprised by what seemingly is:

Suppose there's no harm in asking but if anyone has one spare for Saturday let me know...thanks!  ;)

Have joined that group on facebook Fuzzman, very good idea, hopefully it gets off the ground and sorts out a few genuine people.

No harm in asking but if anyone has one spare, let me know, based in Dublin but can collect on the day either  ;)

Is there anywhere to watch the last 10 or 15 minutes again? I was at the game and thought Monaghan were by far the worst offenders but the meeja have almost brainwashed me in the last few days that it was in fact ISIS that were on the pitch (along with the pigeons) for the last quarter  ;)

GAA Discussion / Interesting Articles & Links

Think it might be an idea to start a thread with links to interesting articles, stories, podcasts etc which might be on interest.

I'll start off with this Sean Boylan interview from Newstalk: http://www.newstalk.com/sean-boylan-interview

GAA Discussion / Re: Longford v Kildare AI SFQ

Would Denis want to take the job again, especially now that his son is on the panel and pushing hard to be a regular in the coming years?

Heard it will be a local appointment alright so hopefully this will lead to everyone buying in for next year.Goes without saying that need as many lads available as possible to challenge for positions as has been mentioned here before, its sometimes harder to get off the team than on it! Interesting that there was only one player from arguably the 2 strongest teams in the county, who were in last years county final, involved in the championship.

Only positive from the evening was the parking advice! Don't think any point in analysing game, better team won although not sure if they were  20+ points better, although thats really splitting hairs!

Anyway tomorrows another day, how will the minor game go? Might pop in to support the youngsters if they have a chance? Cant really face another lopsided senior game though!

No posts on this thread in 2 days, everyone hiding in the long grass?!

Looks like a wet and windy evening in store so might not be the cracker we're all expecting! Dont think Longford have anything to fear, great to see them bounce back after the hiding form the Dubs, they are not as bad as they were made to look that day as shown in 2nd half performance in Tullamore and again in Ennis last week. First appearance in round 3 since 2006 so hopefully we give it a good rattle, same price with the bookies as we were last week btw if anyone looking for a value bet  ;)

3-08 would be enough to win many a game these days!

Unfortunately wont make Sunday, have a family event that I've been trying to wrangle out of but no such luck  :(.

Go to croker often enough as a neutral but theres a different buzz when your own team are playing, even if our chances are between slim and none!

Word from the camp is that they are looking forward to the game and they know they have nothing to lose, even though they realise they are probably in for a difficult afternoon.

League is league, championship is championship!!  Great result and performance for periods of the game, the better side won in the finish, although I thought at half time that the penalty miss was going to be hugely costly. Longford played extremely well in first 20 mins and last 20, in between is cause for concern however.

Lads gave it their all, and as the Insider says you cant ask for any more than that. Subs introduced made a telling contribution with 5 scores, youth and enthusiasm played their part from debutants, although the more senior players in particular Masterson, Gilleran and Kavanagh really stood up to the plate.

Delighted with the win, game plan will need to be altered ever so slightly the next day but lets enjoy this win for what it is  :)

Very low key build up on here with less than 48 hours to go!!

Will travel more in tradition than hope, bigger picture is that a win for either side is just a ticket to a probable roasting the next day unfortunately  >:(
