Right - time to switch over to see how sh@&e Liverpool are.

How to select a man of the match out of this? Throws the all-star selection (nonsense anyway) into chaos as they usually just select 12 players from the final.

This is woeful. Terrible match

Moran has done that all day long! Only a matter of time before he was caught. So slow in possession.

The weather has nothing to do with Kerry being completely clueless going forward.
Aye - the three big lads in the midfield keep stepping inside their markers and  taking a lateral solo and slowing the game down. The forwards are either furious or they're not showing - can't see enough on TV to say for sure. Kerry have kicked 6 dreadful wides and a couple more under pressure.

Hendo broken foot out for about 8 weeks.

Bad news but would like to see Rossiter get some time in there

If we resort to Jay Spearing II then I'm supporting someone else! His future involves a transfer to an average championship club.

Was looking forward to it but the weather has ruined it! Both teams slipping and sliding and dropping the ball. So unfortunate.

Super running points! just in myself. I ran it as part of a long slow run so did 5 beforehand and hit the start line just as they were taking off - ran the first half with a couple of mates at 8.40 pace which is our DCM pace. Loved the disciplin of running the exact pace for 8 miles. Got a bit restless going through the city and kicked on - got faster every mile and finished with a comfortable 7 minute mile. The first run I've ever ran as planned and stuck to the programme which was important for me psychologically. Never felt tired at any stage and got stronger as I went on. Finished in 1:47 which is well outside my best but spot on in the context of the bigger picture! Got 12 done yesterday so a good weekend for me. Planning to do 20 this coming weekend and if that goes well I'll apply for Dublin!
Very good event - excellent organisation and loved the course.

General discussion / Re: Is Stormont going to fall?

It's all brinkmanship lads! The DUPs can't afford to let it fall! Some of those families would be in financial dire straits if the Stormont money wasn't coming in. There are entire DUB and UUP families (nieces, nephews, in laws, wives, cousins) who are employed in various capacities up on the hill. I'm not suggesting they aren't employed legitimately, but it is a fact. Other parties in a similar situation but not to same extent. If it does close you can guarantee it'll be reopened when the severance runs out and the mortgages are due!

If a player's good enough they're old enough! I made my debut at 15 (intermediate) whilst playing juvenile, minor, school and for a local soccer team. I regularly played reserves and seniors in my first couple of seasons having played 90 minutes of soccer on a Saturday and I kept that going until I was 22, adding Gaelic and soccer for the university and three trips a week home for training. I was never county standard but played colleges and have an all Ireland medal. Been all downhill since that though!  :)

Great game that! Thought Mayo we're going to kick on but Dublin and Gavin showed great courage in the last 15 minutes. Ciaran Kilkenny was outstanding. Love watching a player who keeps his head up and always knows where the space is around him. Seamus O'Shea brilliant for nearly 40 minutes as well - a huge and unfortunate blow for Mayo to lose him.

I can't remember a worse irish team in my lifetime. Robbie is their best player by a considerable distance. The right back is absolutely atrocious and James McCarthy is a shadow of the player people continue to say he is.

So - I did perhaps the most ridiculous thing yesterday. Have had notions of the Dublin marathon but due to various setbacks over the summer I had no miles done at all. Ran 11 miles 4 weeks ago at a good 7.30 pace and was very comfortable at that. Decided to get out yesterday and see if I could manage to get a few miles in to see where I'm at after the enforced break.
Managed 16 miles and am in absolute agony today. I knew as I got to 13 that I was in trouble but kept going for I don't know why! Hips and lower back killing me today and didn't sleep a wink last night. Going to attempt 6 tomorrow and try to aim for 16 again this weekend. Not wise!
Anyone have any tips for recovery to get the pain out of these hips?

I'm in the middle of getting ready for Dublin as well and went and played a game of indoor on Monday. Would normally play 3 or 4 times a week but hadn't played in 2 months with all the running. Was sore for days - back, shoulders for some reason, legs - wasn't right until Friday. Managed 16 this morning though at 7:50 per mile and not feeling too bad.
Belfast half marathon entry closes tonight for anyone doing it
Registered last not - thanks for the reminder! Stretched like mad and got a fast 6 miles in today. Back is in bits but it'll clear up in a few days! Here's hoping!
