QuoteGetting worried now for the Ulster Championship.  Wink

Don't worry Ziggy, we in Armagh will do our level best to relieve Tyrone of the burden of having to beat a resurgent Donegal in the Ulster championship.

The half time score says it all, Armagh got away with giving Monaghan a head start, but allowing Cork get ahead 7-1 in the first quarter was one point  too far. Cork got some fine points in the first half. We could have stolen it in the second half, some good play but also missing several easy points and making some simple mistakes.  Cork should have a good chance in the final, they have some big lads, but are faster than Armagh.

QuoteCant see them using croke park again. Mullingar might be the best place for it.

Cavan would seem to have the capacity for this.

Full time

Laois 0-11
mayo 0-6

I hope the bookies were as wrong about tomorrows game as they were today!

Perhaps the bookies are reading that organ of the GAA, the Belfast Telegraph.

Armagh v Cork

(Portlaoise 3pm)

CORK have looked a very solid side throughout their Munster campaign and will go into this encounter as favourites, especially as Armagh have serious injury worries over skipper James Lavery. Last Saturday the orchard county produced a storming finish to get the better of Monaghan in the Ulster decider but Cork may have too much fire-power up front for them.

Verdict: Cork to win by five points

Boylesports had Armagh favourites earlier in the week, they now reflect the concept of Cork being favourites and somewhat favour the idea of the winners of Cork/Armagh being likely to go all the way.

Cork        2/1
Armagh     9/4
Mayo       5/2
Laois        4/1

QuoteIf we can survive the first few rounds of the qualifiers and gradually get Clarke and Mallon up to match fitness with Marsden a bit sharper there'll be enough there to put it up to any team in the country.

But survival will cause a few gray hairs among the fans before then.

Quotenniskeen v. Doohamlet 3.30pm Culloville, Co. Armagh G. Mc Mahon

Is this part of the Adams/Paisley deal, did they give away Culloville?

QuoteLove to go back in time and stand on the Hill in 1974 in the Leinster championship beside Jimmy Keaveny, who had retired, and convinced him that the Dubs are shite and not to even think of coming back, not matter what Kevin Heffernan said

Shamrock Shore, a lot of Armagh people would have to agree with that one!

Sad. Why prevent people going to GAA games?

GAA Discussion / Re: the bbc today..

There may have been a melee of some sort. It seems unlikely that the ref had to "run for his life", life was never in danger. If the refs life was in danger the GAA must act immediately against the people involved and the PSNI must investigate. If this is not the case then the GAA must get the BBC to retract their report.
