For me I'd get rid of Milner, Henderson, and Fabinho. None of them have much football in them and all are no doubt on massive money.

Can't see it happening though.

I thought Jones looked very promising yesterday. Nice control and change of direction in tight spaces and can find a pass. Combined well with Salah.
Absolutely. He wasn't great for their goal, but he was a breath of fresh air after that.

For me the midfield trio that has the best all round impact is;
-Fabinho for stability and defensive cover
-One of Hendo, Gini, Milner for legs and drive and leadership
-One of Keita, Ox, Jones for attacking quality and positive distribution

Agree Allan looked very assured and composed on the ball. Everton looked much improved from last season although I still think they need a keeper, centre-back and striker.

Thoroughly deserved win for Dunloy today, far superior team. I think Loughgiel would be better off going forward without Watson,as good as he has been, he's now holding them back.

It was over well before Christmas, a real lack of quality sides or even entertaining football made for a poor season imo.

Hoping for better viewing this season.

Not sure what you're getting at. I thought the quality and entertainment in the League last year was really poor. You're of course welcome to disagree.

Hopefully it's a more entertaining season. Last year was dull and low quality.

Someone trying too hard me thinks...

You're right Bronco. It was as good as over at Christmas.

Leeds were a joy to watch,as they have been throughout Bielsa's time in charge. Wouldn't be surprised to see them go straight back down but whatever happens they're guaranteed to be entertaining.

Leeds produced an outstanding display at Liverpool yesterday and were hugely unlucky not to get a point. Most Leeds fans wanted the new signings Koch and Rodrigo to be introduced immediately so it was ironic that they were responsible for three of the four Liverpool goals. However, they will improve when they settle in and the rest of the team was brilliant. If that standard can be maintained, we are in for quite a season.

I agree uninterested isn't the correct term. For me Van Dijk is a real threat on offensive set pieces and sometimes looks solid enough defensively, but far too often over the last year he has looked lazy and switched off.

In fairness he isn't helped by the fact he has Gomez alongside him,who simply isn't a top half centre-back in my opinion.

Sorry, don't mean to dominate discussion again but that's a few posts now which have suggested I'm some sort of impostor or something. Could someone explain what is being hinted at here please?

Thanks

This thread going to be ruined now by the looks of it

Yeah, you'd think he'd at least try to disguise his new identity.

I guess he's got an equine fixation.

I've known it to happen but not sure what the official rules are these days. Know of a few GAA clubs that share pitches with rugby teams and the like. Don't see the problem with it as long as there's no negative impact on the club.

Apologies Jibba jabba, didn't mean to dominate discussions. Understood.

Sorry if I've upset anyone.i was just commenting on the game. Are we only allowed to be complimentary towards Liverpool in here? That's a genuine question by the way, I don't want to flout the rules.

Are you saying you didn't think Fabinho performed an embarrassing dive?

Leeds were a breath of fresh air, really enjoyable to watch. Will probably go straight back down but it'll be brilliant entertainment.

It's a pity Liverpool had to resort to that embarrassing dive in order to win.

You're a gobshite.

Deserved 3 points to Liverpool. Salah was immense. Disappointed with Bobby. Really starting to show his age. Keita was so-so for me. Jones very good when he came on. Robertson was Liverpool's 2nd best player. Outstanding defensive performance in the 2nd half. 2 clear penalties and was an outrage Virgil's goal didn't stand, leeds man tripped over his own player, never a foul. Hope Gini stays, there's not the right mix of attacking guile and defensive workrate in the remaining MFs.

Did VVD and Gomez swap positions in that 2nd half? Seemed at times Gomez played next to Robertson and VVD next to TAA. Matip very rusty when he came on. For all my praise of him he is a clumsy kind of lad. Uncomfortable on the ball and 90 mins of Leeds pressing up on him would have had him shitting bricks.

Matip does all the dirty work for Van Dijk, making him look better than he is.

I think Matip and Virgil do better together. Matip tends to get the best out of VVD

Gomez isn't good enough. Matip is better.

I would have Gomez at fault for both goals. Definitely in the 2nd he steps up far too far and is out of position. Virgil completes the mistake but that doesn't account for Gomez culpability. Him and Taa don't play well together. Gomez desire to step up into midfield with the ball is stifling Trents attacking instinct.
