I think "going on the rip" has been one of the main issues with "the town" over the past 10-15 years. If they stayed out of the pub they might do more than make promises every year!

The good old days are nearly 20 years ago now so it's time he moved on and work with the players he has as I don't think the likes of Humpy, Clute and Niall Patterson will be making a comeback anytime soon!

Newbie are you in to troll or are you gonna make a contribution (you're obviously from the Dall!)?

Also, Sambo didn't exactly set the world alight at the helm in Cushendall a few years ago so people are entitled to their reservations about how this "dream team" will perform.

Was Geezer able to write his own name or did he just use an X?  ;D

planned - ok
but would it have been required without the 'rub-by' being played?

Yes - the state of the pitch was mentioned nearly every week in the Sunday Game as there we big sandy areas and some people felt players were at risk due to the lack of grip in these are other really hard areas. So yes in the interests of player safety (GAA players that is  ;D) this would would have gone ahead.

When this thread finishes what will be the next "We're all doomed" thread be about?! Armageddon didn't happen and the GAA is alive and kicking. Live with it.

Spirit I was at the match against Carlow in Keady and sounds like the same symptoms. The damage against Carlow was done in the first half. Looks like they need to get quicker out of the blocks if they want to win a match!

His column was basically slagging off GAA folk going into new careers e.g. Geraghty running for Fine Gael and Sean Og taking over from Alan Partridge on tv. I think everything he said was fair comment - especially the bit about hurlers being ugly bastdards  ;D

How is it back to earth with a bump considering they were also beaten by Carlow? Armagh aren't going to be challenging Antrim for Ulster honours in the next five years but there is no reason why they can't make great strides in the long term.
