Dundalk haven't a prayer MR, sorry.

Could be a level playing field at the dub tomorrow if the injury rumours on both sides are to be believed

No matter what armagh do there'll always be a few who take the negativity out of every situation!  ::) ::)
Give henderson a chance. You're writing him off already after one national league game!

Have i not stated that? i'm just asking for a bit of perspective and realism here.

Thats another urban myth about toal. he got injured in the McKenna cup that year and didn't play in the league
I hope all of these feted players come through but i'm saying be realistic. how was everyone thinking last week after the mckenna cup?
one swallow and all that. remember they wapped dublin last year and everyone thought steven kernan was the next brian mcguigan. how did that one finish up?
You're a big man for these urban myths, you'll find that he missed the full campaign last year (i.e. 08) after breaking his ankle playing soccer NOT in the McKenna Cup, the previous year he got injured halfway through the league campaign but had played some outstanding football in both the McKenna Cup and early rounds of the league. The lad is injury prone otherwise he would have made the breakthrough before now, he has talent to burn.

Toal broke hihand against fermanagh in the McKenna cup and never featured in the league in 2007.
name these league game that he played well in...

I'd like o know what croke park are going to do about this malfunctioning and destructive cork county board. not only are they harming the image of the association (bringing it into disrepute) but they are actively discouraging participation and undermining the ideals of the GAA in cork.

FFS we're all part funding frank murphy's salary!

Yeah, let's see if they continue there from. MORjnr will be chomping at the bit now as well and obviusly TK is to come back as well. Anyone else? Is Forker on the panel. The forward situation certainly looks a lot better. In reality be the end of the league we could have about six forwards fighting for two positions with McDonnell, Clarke and O'Rourke the only certain starters at present.
I honestly think Clarke is the only untouchable we have in the forward line at present.  It'll be interesting to see Stevie's attitude when he returns.

I think we're getting carried away with one performance against what seems to have been a terrible wexford. our forward line will be very similar to last year but hopefully one of the new faces can break in and maybe another add to our options.

with the best will in the world, players who have consistently been just a bit short over a number of years rarely turn into the great saviour overnight.
we've seen steven kernan rip bad defences apart many times but we all know what happens when its physical and he's tightly marked.
henderson couldn't make it consistently at McKenna cup level because he couldn't / wouldn't win dirty ball. has that changed?
toal is complete myth. i've never seen him produce anything at nationa league level but i there's certainly plenty of stories of it.
everyone knows barnesy's achilles heel and thats not likely to change any time soon.

You're pumping maturity there GAA. What age are you?' What's so wrong with asking about regrets? Typical pro-strikers response there. If there's such unity among the 2008 panel why is all the talking being done by the GPA people? There's probably a lot of people who believe some of last year's panel - in spite of what was said at the press conference - are most definitely being influenced by others and in time might come to regret their present action. And those 2008 players' spokespersons talking of taking this issue wherever it has to go so to speak is very GPA-like and somewhat at odds with their press conference and maybe in time you'll regret doubting any GPA influence in this matter. But then no-one on this board has stated if they believe or not whether there has been GPA contact with the 2008 panel or greater involvent in this. Wouldn't be because they might regret calling it wrongly? Maybe if there was no GPA this matter would have been resolved before now.

That is possibly the most backward and irrelevent post today.

And that is saying something!

Fantastic performance from the queens men last night. From the point of view of any county team and supporter its neither here nor there to lose a McKenna Cup game at this stage of the season. glorified challenge. however, to the universities its a massive achievement. vernon and howard are close to established county footballers and though crozier & loughrey start for antrim i'm not sure they would elsewhere. the rest of the lads might be McKenna cup panellists a best for their respective counties. from that point of view its a fantastic achievement.

Down were very poor. coulter and magee looked dangerous under the high ball early on, particularly after queens lost the full and corner back in the opening few minutes but when they settled the students handled them quite well. you wouldn't have known sexton and hughes were on the pitch. Lynch and to a lesser extent ireland were outclassed in the middle and the centre of the down defence was woejus. carr got a pasting from young maginn and o'neill won every ball in front of McKernan at full back.

for queens, vernon was immense as has been well documented but loughrey won possibly as much ball and it was great to see paul courtney back playing good football. Everything that was good about queens went through Maginn and the O'Neill / Kielt pairing were lethal. as a former queens man it'd be great to see them win the McKenna cup.... even though most people don't really care!

united type player

i wouldn't have owen about the place. he's not a united player. can't get involved in the play and adapt so for that reason i don't believe for a second that united will sign him

I'd say if you put yourself in their shoes, what is there to discuss with McCarthy for the players?

GMC - "Well lads, what's the sceal?"

Players - "we think you're crap geraldand its not worth our while training if you're gonna be in charge again."
