What's BT Vision like Peter?

its OK, has its moments. The facilty to record, much like Sky + is great. You have a tonne of movies on demand, some free, or you can pay up to £3.50 for a newer release.

I added it on to the broadband i had. We have the basic freeview channels, espn (11 quid for the card, free after), the movie and the kids addon (for junior). With the 8mb broadband, line rental, add-ons the paying for the odd movie, its not a clink off £50 a month to be honest.

Looked into Virgin media, but i cannot get the digital side in my location.

i live close to the border and have had rte 1, 2, tv3 and tg4 as channels 1,2, 3 and 4 for a couple of months. this happened after i scanned for channels. bbc1, 2, itv and channel 4 are now on channels 800, 801, 802 and 803.

as one poster mentioned, the quality of the picture is much better, but i run the freeview through BT vision and cannot record from rte

1/  Since his books have an historical background which Brown is making out to be factual in line with his stories, it would be better if he got basic facts correct - what I read of Da Vinci code was riddled with schoolboy errors.  If he had done his homework it wouldn't have been so irritating

2/ It wasn't just Da Vinci code which he used against the Church - don't ask me details as I haven't read any of the others even partially - I know that he has created a furore at times over different things he has said about the Church.  Incidentally, Freemasons are saying the same thing about his latest book...

3/  Brown misses bits in telling the story.  He assumes he has already told the reader a,b and c when he hasn't

I always find it puzzling how so many Irish people will support English teams like Liverpool and Manchester United but then when the likes of Gerrard and Rooney represent their national team, the same people will support any mickey mouse nation against their heroes.

the vast majority of scousers supporting Liverpool dont give a hoot about the national team, why should Irish fans supporting Liverpool give a hoot?

QuoteBad news for Englands WC bid.  Pardoning hooligans convicted of attempted murder in another country won't be looked on favorably.

Go f**k yourself!

Wow, you're a real man, telling people to go f**k themselves on a discussion board!  Don't you have school in the morning?

under the bar..go f**k yourself..what do you think you deserve coming out with such verbal dung

Rarely has such an average player had such ideas about the merits of its own talents. The fact that Newstalk and TV3 use him as a pundit says a lot for both institutions.

Your comments about him are more of a reflection of what you know about football.

With all due respects mate- what exactly do you know about football? Jesus some of us have high opinions of ourselves. Thats my view on David Brady - as part of a democratic society its my opinion. If you don't like it don't read it. Thats a simple answer isn't it.
Fed up reading about him being dropped for the -all-ireland  final- he was bitter etc etc - as if he was the first player in the history of the game to be dropped. Wasn't good enough -end of.
I mighn't like most of the other pundits- but I'd have some levekl of respect for them- I have none for him.

The Brogans, Elbows Whelan, Cullen, not good enough - end of.

It's funny how everyone is listing practically every gig they have ever attended to make it look like they are 'into' music.

Best one I've been to was Slane this year. Gem Archers Don't Look Back In Anger Solo was amazing. The Prodigy were probably better than Oasis

your obviously not 'into' music

best: radiohead @ the SEC, OK 'puter tour 97ish
or anytime I've see the frank and walters

Bring deep pockets, I think there's like a semi search before you go into the concert site.  You can bring all the drink you want into the campsite, just no glass bottles.  We'll probably be up at the back of the campsite on the left hand side, walk around there shouting rolloutking and I'll throw ya a tin...

well she's kicking off tomorrow, or tonight for the youngsters with more stamina

lineup could be better, think they were putting their hopes on getting Therapy? to headline, but a German festival signed them up. Pity.

will try and get to see as many bands as I can (which will probably add up to 4). the band i am most looking forward to seeing is a Bangor band called The Stetz; www.myspace.com/thestetz. guitars with a smidgen of electronic wizardry thrown in.

accuweather changes by the day, but at the minute, its giving it sunny with showers during the day with a south wind, which means it'll be warm enough and periods of rain @ night

i hear tesco's are doing 24 carlsberg for a tenner

lets do this!

Did any of you see the slap big Joe [Diver] hit one of the McGees after the match on Saturday night. I wonder what was it about?

at a guess I'd say it was wing half back McGee, he was acting the clown all game

Think one of the Bradys (?) from Antrim was a former sprinter

The referee was a total bullocks - gave nothing to Derry.

Fair play to donegal where up for it and took the game to Derry - who where always on the back foot until the end.

McCloy was taken to the cleaners - the full back line was our achilles heel tonight. Gerald o'Kane was brilliant. Doherty had a very poor game. The second goal was a real sucker punch - believe we could have went on and win the game in extra time if it had not occurred.

I haven't read past this post to see if any Derry supporter has refuted it, but as a total neutral, this is a spin comical Ali couldn't have put on it

The ref had a fine game imo up until the very last kick of the game when there was an very obvious free in not given to Derry which would have drawn the game.

balls he did, he was near as bad as Derry were. Donegal continuosly fouled and disrupted attack after attack and how many yellow cards did they get in normal time? 2nd half produced a tonne of stoppages and how much additional time was given? 2 fcukin minutes

Our neighbours were more hungry, more up for it. The McGee's whilst being annoying hooers did the business, Lacey had another stormer.

Lynch, Skinner, Patsy and Gerd, take a bow. Saturday was a low day, esp as it looked like we had some decent numbers out supporting for a change, but we'll hopefully come good.

And as for anyone asking for Cassidy to be replaced, catch yourselves on. The man deserves @ least a 3 year term.

Doire Abu and good luck to Donegal

PS: can folk stop sniping @ county players, name calling and so forth, you's are a disgrace

people may think its daft but i was thinkin last night that fegal doc may be an option in there, perfroming a similar role to that of which mc anallen did for tyrone.

pasty bradley imo is a very under rated midfielder and makes a world of difference to our team. with him and diver in there (as long as he learns to never shoot!!!) we could hold our own with fergal in full back?

Has Patsy ever been tried there?

naw he hasn't not to my knowledge anyway. crozier tried him at wing half back for a spell, it didnt really work out. out of the 3 we have for midfield, fergal is clearly the best footballer and while the other 2 may find it hard to adapt to other positions i reckon doherty could adjust to play full back. in saying that, he had one horrible game when crozier tried him at CHB against tyrone 2 years ago. still, i think his reading of the game and fielding ability may be an option in there, for me we have to try something else, mccloy is just to slow for this level of football

I could be wrong here, but was Patsy not tried at full-back during this year's McKenna Cup? I'm thinking back to the Fermanagh game specifically.

you could be right, i didnt get to any mckenna cup games this year as it was during final exams

do you think doherty could be an option in there? or am i just talkin sh1te!?

I seem to remember Fergal playing fullback on occasion for St Pats in the McRory Cup. He looked far from comfortable there and its to late in the year to be trying things like that. A top class forward like O'Neill or Brogan would expose a novice full back very easily.

maybe so, and perhaps it should be left to try at the begginning of next year.

i just have severe doubts about mccloy in there, he has a great brain and can read the game perfectly, its just a pity he hasnt got the speed.

saturday was very very worrying, ronaghan was in acres every time the ball went in. you say a top class forward like brogan or o neill would expose doc and you are right they probably would, but they would do the same to mccloy imo. thats the reason he was dropped for tyrone game and SML picked up o'neill.

my point about doc was more so if the opposition had a target man in full forward like ronaghan on sat. fergal can compete in the air with anyone, and is more mobile than mccloy

I dont think its pace that McCloy is struggling for but more confidence and form. He has never been fast but his strength and reading of the game has always left him able to hold his own. There is a certain type of forward that he can mark and there are others he shouldnt be let near. Its up to the management to make sure he is marking the correct man.

i know he's never been fast but he definitely seems to have slowed down evern from a year or 2 ago. against monaghan the first day he held his own in there, but we were more defensively set up that day. saturday we were exposed to players running at us and we struggled, mccloy was perhaps exposed more than usual. its just with the defenders available at present i really worry its going to cost us one of these days

it was mentuioned on the forum last year, that according to the training stats, McCloy is one of the fastest on the panel
