In terms of fines etc that can be handed  out by UEFA, Celtic can find themselves to be very lucky and I think most Celtic fans are actually shocked that it is  only £25,000 suspended over two years(i agree that the culprit should be made to pay the initial payment of £12,500 for his prancing about).

Celtic's recent reputation though has been taken into account (100,000+ that was meant to have travelled to Seville in 2003 without a hint of bother resulting in the UEFA and FIFA fair play awards).  Also the actions of the stewards on the night of the Milan game cannot be faulted.  They in fact prevented a disaster from happening which has hardly been touched on.  After McDonald scored the winner, and foolishly ran towards the corner flag, there was such a surge of supporters coming down from the stand to greet him that, not only did the sponsor boards fall over, but people were falling and getting crushed, due to the those behind.  Quite a few ended up on the ground with a least a few hundred folk on top of them.  There was at least two that had to be carried away.  The came from all round the ground to help those out and prevent the crowd from spilling even more onto the playing field.

Even bigger culprits that night has once again to be the Scottish media where there were calls for Celtic to be kicked out of Champions League etc..

the pricing in this years Down championship has baffled me.  the club was involved in a preliminary round game that finished in a draw.  Was £5 into that match and £5 into the replay.  They were evening matches and were the only games on at the venue.  In the next round played on a Sunday afternoon at a different club venue (and again the only match at the venue) the admission was £3.

The semifinal which was played as part of a double header in Newry was £10 into the stand.  At the county final on Sunday, the ticket I purchased for the stand was £12 and that was for three matches as there was a hurling game on prior to the minor final (and we also had the official opening of Pairc Esler)

When signing off on texts, emails etc.  is it ok for a fella to use "x".  Without being sexist, it always seemed to be a girly thing.

I had a girl texting me tonight and she signed off every single txt with an "x", "xx", "xox" etc.  she is a friend (who i also used to work with) It was only in my last reponse that i finished with a "x" but just didnt feel right  ???

I would agree with Golden Years in a way that Div 3 teams that go up to the 2nd will struggle and may come straight back down.  At present there is not a lot of difference between the top Div 4 teams and most of those in the 3rd.  Div 2 however is a biger step.

The results in this years championships prove this in that Drumgath were knocked out early in the Senior, no Div 3 team left in the Intemediate and only Bosco left playing in the Junior with the rest being Div 4 teams.

Now may be the right time to restructure the leagues, but if changes are to be made will the clubs vote on it?  They had the chance last year but voted against any changes being put forward.

Btw draw for Junior C'ship semis is:

Bosco Vs St. Michaels (Newry, Sat 8th Sept)
St. John's Vs Drumaness (Newcastle, Sun 9th Sept)

Can Drumaness do the double and ensure that for another year that a Division 4 side has won the C'ship?

Whilst this is good news for the Bryansford club, there is still going to be a lot of work needed to be done from the county board side of things.  For example, where is the new Centre of Excellence/training facilities/what ever you are going to call it,  going to be located and how easily will it be for them to acquire the required land.  At least Bryansford have their location pointed out.

Will the county now have a second county field to play games on or is Pairc Esler going to be used as the only venue.  No doubt great work has been done in Newry but surely it can't cope with games all year round. and with the proposed work on the new changing room area, they will need an alternative venue.
