On the big calls:

John Joe - by the letter of the law deserved a red... he dived in 2 feet, over aggressively, & caught Evans so if he appeals, he'll be unsuccessful. IMO it was harsh, it should've been his second yellow (he emptied Rafa near the sideline earlier). He was out of control... & would've hurt someone if he'd stayed on any longer.

I'd have given Evans a yellow too. I think he was saved, as he actually got the ball ahead of John Joe.

The Pen - I'm not sure how you can argue against it, Tony V was about to pull the trigger, when Johnson pushed & clipped him from behind. He never even appealed against the decision, very unlike the Liverpool players on the day... they appealed for every single decision!

Liverpool will hope Suarez stays clear of injury, otherwise a relegation scrap IS on the cards! & with Agger now out, will that mean more game time for Jamie C? Disaster if so. Although Coates maybe a better option.

Welbeck continuing his diving antics after his Oscar winning dive for England.
At least the peno was missed. Justice done.
Never seen Suarez' dive later in the evening, but Stan Collymore nearly choked... he wanted a red card for him in his TalkSport commentry!!

Are they all GFCs? What happened CLGs? No hurling or handball played at all?

Has the protocol for this all changed now? What happened to the one club philosophy? GAC / CLG?

Ignored? It's in every paper!

You want an in depth discussion on it? - What is there to discuss?

No matter who owns UTD... it will be for business reasons. - They are probably the biggest sporting brand in the world, certainly in football.

They've bought a business with a mortgage. There aren't too many people who can buy a billion £ comapny without it.

Of course every football fan would love an Abrohimivic are Shiekh to own the club as a play thing... but unfortunately that's not a reality!

http://www.football365.com/news/21554/7951791/Glazers-To-Take-Slice-Of-Share-Issue...

Can Fergie still be happy with the Glazers?

Can United supporters be happy with Fergies stance on the Galzers?

Genuine questions. Whatever about Benitez, he took the fight to the owners and sacrficed himself perhaps and short-term glory for the bigger picture.

If the Glazers are starting to drain further money from United, its another turn for the worse. But they are a massive, marketable club and would attract a buyer at any price I feel.

Away from off the field , they are strengthen in the right areas, whereas City seem to be sitting still, I think United will give it a right rattle this year.

I was going to reply until you went into la la land.

Maybe it wasn't warranted alright, but sure i expected it be largely ignored anyways, just like 99% of the United fanbase have done with the Glazers bar wave a few fashionable scarfs.

What would you suggest we do?
Abandon ship?

Most fans I know refuse to purchase any UTD 'stuff' now (that new jersey makes that a little easier.)

Jonny Hanratty started yesterday. James Morgan & Aaron Kernan would likely have started, but for injury. Tony Kernan come on.

How many other Cross men would've started?

Paul Hearty should still be #1, but he's retired.
Paul Kernan would be a back up full back IMO - if fit.
Paul McKeown would be a back up corner back, if he chose to make himself available.
David McKenna was my big hope for commanding midfielder (fitness seems to have hampered his selection/commitment)
Aaron Cunningham was scathing yesterday on twitter IMO should be a panelist, eventially taking a half forward position... not immediately!
Franny Hanratty was on the panel - wouldn't start though?
Stephen Kernan chose not to be involved. - if was still involved over the years, he'd be #11

Tevez has now withdrawn his apology for the Fergie sign, says he owes Ferige nothing. I understand the context of the sign in the first place but Tevez really is a classless little tr**p. ::)

I have to laugh at how fickle utd supporters are. When he was in his last 6 months at it, all you could hear was fergie, fergie sign him up.

Paraphrasing here - when circumstances change, I change my opinion - what do you do Sir?

Whatever way you want to dress it up, there's no denying the fact that fergie was inciteful in the first instance with his comments about city not winning the league in his lifetime.
Tevez's actions were OTT, but fergie is partly to blame for this episode.

When did he say that?

Surely for utd to be their under dogs they would have to win the league?  ;)

It would be one of the measures all right.

I hope you're in good Kompany. I can imagine this is a difficult time for United fans. Don't take it to Hart. Yaya gotta keep your head up. It wont be De Jong before you're smiling again. Look for the Silva lining. It may sound a bit Clichy but you'll be okay.

For a Celtic fan & general Premier League hater... you spend a lot of time posting on this thread in particular! Scottish football getting the better of you? Gary hooper (former Scunthorpe super star) not taking our fancy after his 5 goals at the weekend?
Why put 'former Scunthorpe super star' in your post? Is that meant to be some sort of insult, that he used to play for a Champonship team? A relegated team who he still scored 20+ goals for.

Delighted to see United getting done over. ;D

Not so much an insult as a reality check on the Scottish league.
Delighted you're delighted.
