I've a friend who has not paid a penny back, he's done a law and masters in international law, he did his international law in Holland and has never come home to work, though he's never worked in law a day so far.. Works in sales in Denmark!

Yes, its collected through the tax system here. Unless he comes home to work and earns over £25k approx pa he won't have to repay it.

Absolutely no way there was going to be a male DUP deputy FM. They needed someone high enough profile and the likes of Paul Givan or Gordon Lyons would not even consider it. The imagery of having a man 'subservient' to a woman would not sit well with them

McNulty has had the SDLP whip suspended but he can continue as an independent. The only way SDLP can do anything is if he resigns his seat and they co-opt someone on. If that happened it would likely be Pete Byrne. Problem they have is McNulty is very popular and is a 'figure'. They have died a complete death in south Armagh and south down and he is hanging them in there. Byrne is a much more competent operator and is the better person to be there but he doesn't have the profile. McNulty's father is old school SDLP and was at the forefront with Seamus Mallon from the very start so his son has a lot of wriggle room

End of the day you can't have players doing what he did during the week and not having consequences. Yes the profile is higher because of what club he plays for, but he knows this and still did what he did.

The person who didn't vote is wee Seamie I suspect. On the day of the election is was gurning as there was a Rangers game on that day and he was not able to vote,  according to him,  as he was away at the game. The references by wee Jeff and CCH to people on twitter is a clear shot at Bryson.

While I have little sympathy for Donaldson maybe he has grown a pair and publicly now has stood up to the back room bullies. Very pointed sitting in the HoC with all the DUP members in a row expect Junior sitting directly behind wee Jeff in the eye of the camera.

Credit where its due. Glen were persecuted for years as a townie club that would never deliver. You only have to go back to start of Derry thread here to see that. In fact all towns were written off, as the rural clubs were the predominant forces.

Then Coleraine won it and in time Magherafelt crossed the coveted line...before Glen kicked the doors down altogether  not just winning Derry, but Ulster and now AI.

People talk about tradition, I say go ahead and make your own history. Glen proved that.

Agreed on making your own tradition but that only happens in special circumstances. This is a very gifted group of footballers in Glen and in Glass they have one of the top 5 players in the country. They nearly threw it away yesterday but got over the line.

Question now is can they back it up?  Good teams win 1,  great teams back it up. Had yesterday taken the edge off them enough or are they hungry for more. Much will depend on how much Harte expects of them for Derry. The body can only do so much so back to back will be a huge ask
