This is unfortunately the lowest point we have ever been to get relegated to division 4 but to remain there is inexcusable.

We know what billy has brought to the table is there an appetite to cut our loses before championship.

Long flight home ahead

No we don't have a defence coach . Absolute no defensive plan in place and if there is I haven't seen it yet .

Is there not a collective of coach's involved?
Conway
Mulligan
McGill

Plus seen Paddy Dunne involved surely these can put a defensive plan in place.

Still a good chance this weekend but irrespective of the result this isn't the manager to lead us into next year regardless of it being in div 4 or 3.
Unbelievable lack of defensive structure only Waterford have more goals conceded.
Ref brought the ball up on numerous occasions due to mouthing from players but as a player if all you see is your manager doing the same then it becomes the norm.
Hopefully Eoin Lowry makes a speedy recovery.

The combined schools team would be a good idea but its really only one cog in a wheel that has fallen off the wagon. Before we even talk about secondary schools we need to get the club structures in place with full time GPOs. We need to develop and grow the setanta programme into something special for kids. We need to get hurling going properly in every primary school in laois. The development squads need major focus and attention and then the secondary schools too.
We actually need to start with 5 and 6 year olds and put in the work for 15 years time.
I'm sick and tired of hearing laois senior managers over the past 20 years talking about taking 'the learnings' from heavy defeats and trying to work on them. The same shite for years we are hearing. Bringing Dan Shanahan and the likes of Shane O Sullivan (performance coach) from waterford and paying them. Performance coach...for that last night, give me a break.
Its time for leadership in this county. Wake up and smell the coffee and stop making the same mistakes over and over. We need to start from scratch and we need to do it now!!

Completely agree more funding has to be put into the development panels along with support's for training the home grown coaches so we can Begin a succession plan for future Manager's to take roles
The setanta program also which has to be replicated on the football end.

Trying not to be massively critical as I'm sure there is more to it being the GAA and LGFA are 2 different associations.

But surely there could be a way where the Ladies and Men could have played a double header on Sunday instead of the games on at the same time at different ends of the county.

What fundraising are Laois Gaels going to do.?

Member the last few years email went out from new chairman Leo Turley main focus on improvement for the chaps in the development squad's. Shea Dooley involved according to the website always an honest player great to have him involved in something to do with chaps if his young lad wasn't flying in the Rugby he would be a great edition to the hurling.
But fair play to him on the front

Best team available to us .
That's not Damien O'Connor from Timahoe is it on the subs ?

Tis the very same.

Can't fault the team it is the strongest hand available. Possibly light from the bench but few injuries will do that.

Imagine lee Walker and Niall Corbett will see a nice bit of time

Tough to call I'm going with Laois by 2

The game between Laois and Carlow was initially postponed from Wednesday evening to the weekend due to weather conditions.

The latest O'Byrne Cup cancellation leaves Laois without an opponent for their last game in the competition.

Carlow were due to play Billy Sheehan's footballers in Stradbally on Wednesday until the game was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Today Leinster GAA were notified that Carlow were unable to fulfil the fixture due to "Sigerson Cup commitments, injuries and sickness ".

The game will now, not take place.

Laois' first game of their division four league campaign will them making the trip to Markievicz Park to take on Sligo.

Close enough to a starting team with a few obvious exceptions.
Hopefully a strong team goes out against Carlow who got a trimming from Longford on Wednesday.
Evan o Carrol was extremely lively and effective dropped into the middle to collect a few as well.
Far More positive thankfully

it was the first time I sat near the Laois dug out today it looked and sounded a bit manic.
Some players did their own thing for a warm up no sign of direction
I'm no wall flower but the stuff I heard from the manager towards the players was repulsive at time's was this out of frustration or is it a recurring theme?

havent seen the table, but if wicklow and longford win next week are all three of us on the same points?
if 3 teams finish on the same points then in goes to points difference and lowest 2 get the drop
