This is all in code.

Which stars are they talking about? It doesn't have to be Stevie G or Torres you know. It could be some of the lesser stars.

Selling to the Arabs - DIC- would have been a disaster for the club but good for the Yanks. DIC are virtually bust now and had to be bailed out before Christmas. They would have sold every player rather than give up their property empire in the Gulf.

A mate of mine suggests that if it looks like 4th place will be missed this year the club should go into administration and take the 10 point hit. Then start off with a new holding company in June with a clear balance sheet. Is that a goer?

Missing 4th place this year and then going into admin after June would be a real disaster as we'd miss Champions League 2 years running and could even end up in a relegation fight in players leave!!

48 weeks for 'Mullagh Three'
03 February 2010

Three hurlers from the Mullagh club in Galway have been hammered with 48-week bans by the CCCC.

The three players were initially hit with 48-week bans by the Galway CCC for allegedly assaulting referee Christy Helebert at the end of a county semi-final last October - something the players denied.

This was then reduced to twelve weeks on appeal to the Galway Hearings Committee.

But the referee found that reduction unacceptable and sent a file to the National Referees Administration. Having examined the case, Croke Park's Central Competitions Control Committee has decided that the original ban of almost one year should apply.

One of the players - Conor Dervan - was a member of the county senior squad. The others are Davey Glennon, who won an All-Ireland minor medal last September, and John Rafferty.

So that's the Indo's take on the minute of the meeting.  :-\

I'm confused. What is for the best? They raise the £100m and carry on or they don't and there's a fire sale?

Is there any other option that gets them out and allows the club to continue without selling key players? Is the problem really that the Yanks over value their stake and therefore can't find a buyer that would be good for the club?

Byrne is cleared to play at the weekend. When is the French team named? I want to see the teams before I pick mine.
