GAA Discussion / Re: U21 Football Championship

Well said moysider, management have a lot of questions to answer for Campbell's non-starting. Also, in the first half Mayo had a strong breeze, the players I thought would stnd up and be counted (Parsons and O'Shea and Cunniffe to an extent) were poor. Then against the breeze they all did well. I thought the play was overly condensed in the Mayo half in the first half, the distribution to the inside forwards very poor in the first half and improved, like everything in the second half. Ref didn't do Mayo any favours either. All in all another case of leaving it behind us. Suppose you don't deserve to win games scoring 0-2 with a strong breeze behind you and Campbell and McLoughlin sitting on the bench for the early part of the game.

That's what I would like too, if they were showing games RTE wouldn't probably have shown. But no, instead down the Connacht and Ulster finals go to their level. They better not mess it up, the shite coverage of soccer and rigby was bad enough.

RTE always showed minimal consideration to the Conancht final down through the years. Always relegating it to the warm-up act for the Munster or Leinster final so no surprise that they let TV3 have it.

If there's a shower worse than the Black and Tans it's that shower above in RTE. I'm sure we're all ina greement about this! Cannot comment on TV3's coverage as I don't watch that channel. I will have to watch it now I suppose...

Why are the other countries not voting for it? Is it because all the other parliaments are afraid it will be rejected. People talk about democracy etc, but this is the most undemocratic treaty ince well the Nice Treaty when only a handful of countries voted for it. We were forced to vote twice. Sorry tankie, I am against the EU as one entity, we are grand as we are imo. The Dáil will become like a glorified local council then it seems...

I'll be there rosnarun. There's not much word about it anywhere though. Typical GAA I suppose...

Well I'll be getting the bus down from Dublin. Hope the lads do it and get to a final again. Stonewall, that's the entire half-back line you've mentioned there I think. Doesn't look too good if they are actually injured for Saturday. Who else plans to go?

ag dúnadh (na fuinneoga)

ag bailiú (na cóipleabhair)

ag ceartú (na ceachtanna)

Rudaí cosúil leis sin hardstation.

A chairde, tá scrúdú Ghaeilge agam maidin Dé hAoine, an féidir le duine eicínt anseo na rialacha a bhaineann leis an tuisil ginideach de na focail atá san fhoirm iolra a mhíniú dom? Más é do thoil é..

I think it's all going to be 'Imperialism by Stealth'. If we vote yes, we will be removing 32 more law-making decisions from Dáil Éireann to Brussells. I presume it's going to be the same for all the other parliaments. Yes, I saw that from a 'No' campaigner, but the fact that no Yes men/women have come out against it means it is probably true. And as for the bullshit of us getting kicked out if we vote no, well it's just a load of nonsense...

GAA Discussion / Re: The death of the full back
April 14, 2008, 09:45:45 PM
QuoteWhat are the reasons for it though? Is it that most county full backs wouldn't ever play full back for their clubs and they are mostly centre halfs/midfielders who are filling the gap on the county panel?

That's the situation in Mayo with the entire full-back line. :-\

A hardstation, is dócha go gciallaíonn 'ní fhuil' níl. Is sort tomhais é sin. Tá mé ag foghlaim na frásaí ón nGaeltacht Tír Conaill mar tá mé an-chairdiúil le daoine ón áit sin...

How about trying to pick a first eleven with only one player from eleven teams allowed. I'm trying to think up a team and failing miserably... :-[

I know it's not that hard, but I don't know whether or not to put in Vidic, Rooney or Ronaldo from Utd?

And you have to beat Longford to ensure you stay out of the TM Cup. If our backs can contain Sligo's forwards that is.

If Meath win, is it not head to head performances in the actual league? Meath would be promoted on that basis..

QuoteFull back struggled against Cavanagh

Oh dear, same old story. If we had a good full-back line, anything could be possible in the Summer as I think the workrate that the rest of the team do is making up for the full-back line's deficiencies. However, we will have to trundle on with the leaking full-back linee for another while at least. I suppose the only positive to take from the league is that we aren't relegated and I suppose another plus could be that Johnno knows the full-back line needs major work. Whether he can do the work that is required is another thing.

What were Mayo like? Not good by the sound of the Tyrone people on here.
