Quote from: marty34 on June 16, 2024, 09:04:54 AMGreat comeback by Antrim.

Was there a breeze or what was the turning point?

Mc Entee has done a good job with Antrim.  Fermanagh will be disappointed with the collapse. Brewster Park a tricky place.  In saying that, Fermanagh would have been favourites - maybe they thought they had it won at half-time?

Free shot for Antrim now.

Most important thing now is they push on and get out of Div. 3 in 2025.

It's the way Andy and co have gone and built practically a new team that's most impressive..and imo he's done a "great" job.

Just consider this. His first 3 choice midfielders were lost to injury (Kevin Conor Eunan Quinn).

Sigerson Cup winner Peter Healy and 3 x McRory Cup stars Adam CJ Ruairi were also out all or most of 2024 season.

Ryan Murray also a huge loss to the team, and Patrick Finnegan Stephen Beattie Eoghan McCabe would also have got loads game time but for injury. Ronan Boyle was going well until injury and Benen Kelly was going rightly too... and I'm sure I've missed one or two out!

That's the core of a whole team there...so to me the rebuild has been hugely impressive.

But you're right Marty..let's have a good old crack at (edit Laois) and what's left of 2024, and really look forward to next season with a much stronger panel.

PaddyJohn called it 100%.

Just home, tonight was one of my most memorable days watching Antrim in over 50 years. So proud of that second half display, the whole team stood tall when it counted most.

Kavan Keenan, just give him player of the season now, there's me wondering what the hell was he doing as a corner back. Or Eunan at full back. How wrong I was. Joe Finnegan immense too.

But tonight we toast the return of our leader. Peter Healy produced 30 minutes football that will live long in the memory, he turned tonight around almost single handedly, and lit the spark that everyone else bought into.

Proud night to be a Saffron, well done Andy, Tom, Terry and everyone involved. On we go.

He's a young lad who starred at college and under age level and maybe the expectation was he would go into Antrim seniors and start shooting the lights out.

It didn't work out that way but I'll tell you what, fair play he stuck it out two full years and didn't ever spit the dummy. He's a class big lad who is a real handful at club level and maybe under a different manager Big Pat would have got a lot more game time. Thats not a reflection on Andy, just different people see different things. And certainly would have got a lot more game time the way the game used to be played!

And a player who gives his all for the county dosent deserve an ounce  of criticism from people on here whom there is a very strong chance either couldn't lace his boots or say it to his face.

Brewster Park at 6pm on Saturday. Let's get a few down there, all or nothing at this stage.

If a player signs up to make himself available to play county, he is in principle saying that he will see very little club football if any at all, until the county season is over.

And that's the way it is in practically every county.

The grey area is where players are caught in the middle (numbers 20 to 28 on the county squad) who are caught in no man's land...and end up playing for neither! They can only hope the manager uses a bit of discretion  here or there...

Players will return to clubs for second half of the league and obviously championship.

That's the arrangement and everyone knows the deal.

Could club fixtures be pushed back to 6pm?

Adams hip injury flared up again unfortunately ITG, just as he was playing his way back in! Connaire got 10 mins yesterday, coming back to himself after completing rehab on his quad.

Only time I saw them on the pitch together was Pairc Esler last year against Down (we were superb that night) and last 20 against Meath in the Tailteean semi in Croke Park where they looked like they were born to play there.

Funny thing is we were arguably better than Sligo, or put it another way, created more clear cut goal chances.

One more score would have won it and left us with a fortnight off and importantly a home QF. Yes we should beat London at home but yesterday's result means we will be away to Fermanagh Down or Kildare. No easy tasks there, but none impossible either.

Ryan McQuillan (as predicted 15 months ago) is turning out to be a marquee scoring forward and I'd love to see him in a forward line with heads up players like Ryan Murray, Conchuir Johnston and the unfortunate Adam Loughran who is struggling to shake off a persistent hip injury.

We live in hope all four will be available for next years league, but in meantime let's enjoy what's left of this season.

Gallant effort today by our men in Breffni Pk to come back from 4 down twice to draw with fancied Sligo.

Considering the ease Sligo beat us in the league great to see us matching them today. Well done to Andy and all involved.

The beauty of sport, unexpected things happen. Life goes on, and as 4 teams qualify for league semi finals this year, this weekends results have opened the door to an interesting second half of the league season.

A flawed ally!

How flawed? A little bit flawed, or flawed to the potential that has never been seen flawed!

A behemoth that controls US pursestrings and has a massive majority of influential politicians on both sides in their Friends of Israel pockets, a country with zero concern for the opinion of ICC or WHO or practically anyone else, who control the US universities, the media, the police, the finance system.

I mean,at what point do you start thinking these people are becoming your biggest enemy hiding in plain sight, with zero interest in USA, except their own self interest in promoting their own agenda. And where do you think this will end if no-one calls them to task.

At least Ireland Spain and Norway have the moral authority to stand up and say enough is enough, whilst the majority of Yanks want to push on for total obliteration. Says it all really!

Two pieces of shit...is that really the best that country can offer. I'll never set foot near the swamp.

Think Israel believed they had the whole publicity machine in their favour (bought and paid for) until little ol Tic Toc came along and highlight their lies and hypocrites.

Then they try to get it banned lol.

World opinion sees them for what they are worth, money grabbing land grabbing shysters who have three quarters of the so called civilised governments of the world in their back pocket.

History won't judge them kindly no matter what the outcome is.

As for Biden, wouldn't be too many going to see him in Castlebar if he was there tonight.
