I have seen most of Fermanaghs league games and all of their championship games this year. I feel while Canavan has undoubtedly improved the teams, structure and numerous individuals he did have weaknesses i.e. tactical decision making.

That coupled with the fact that he was rumoured to be on a very decent financial package as well as the likely retirement of 4/5 players probably meant it was a convenient seperation for both parties.

Fermanagh need to pay attention to Cavan & Tyrones example and invest in youth.

Ya it takes a while not to panic when u have to miss a breath or take a mouthful of water

1.30 would be a very solid first year, if your running is that good then you'll have no problem chopping huge times off ur bike, you've over a month, I'd suggest an 80k cycle every weekend and two nights with hills in them, not too steep, stay in the saddle and churn it out, will work wonders for your power output

It gets very addictive the more you do, I'm nearly looking forward to the winter to start building my base again, the turbo sessions started last week in prep for next year! Back to three swim sessions a week now, two technique and one endurance.

That's what I'm going to concentrate on. As you say it's a great buzz and the atmosphere is great at these events. Need to pick a route for the 80k cycling, do you go hard at them or pick a section or two to work on and go medium paced the rest?

Different training to what i did over they years playing hurling and football so once I get that base I'll be flying. My goggles broke just before we went in the water and I had another spare with me but they started to fog up after a bit, that didn't help ffs

Problem is that fermanagh have at most 13 IC standard palyers and outside that they hace players you wouldn't let grace a club side. When they have these 13 men out and are well organised and positioned then they are as competitive as any side in ulster as shown by '04 and '08. However when that bite isnt there or there are injuries/suspensions or walkaways they just dont have the players to fill the void.

To say Fermanagh only have 13 IC players is laughable.  The above are all more than capable of playing at a pretty good standard and most have proved it at times over the last five years or so.  In addition there are a number of younger players like Ryan Jones, Brian Cox, Sean Quigley, Tomas Corrigan and Chris O'Brien who will be knocking on the door (in fact all but Sean Quigley started a championship match this year).  I wouldn't be as downbeat as some on here about our prospects.  I'm not saying we'll be anywhere near All Ireland semi finals, but I don't think we'll be in Div 4 for more than next year.

Absolutely ridiculous post. To suggest that Carson, Lyons, keenan and Goan are not inter county standard is pathetic.

No they definitely wouldn't. Quit kidding yourselves. Would Mick Murphy be set aside for ryan carson? Swap daryl keenan for paul finaly or any of monaghans half forwards? Paul Ward for Freeman/ Cunningham/ CJ McGourty? I could go on all day, here I haven't mentioned Goan, gallagher or Ward yet.

You have missed my point entirely. Why have you listed the best forwards from each county? My point was that the would 'feature' for these team. I dont mean they will be 'marque' forwards!

If it was shoulder to shoulder it would be fair but connecting with the elbow to the face is not shoulder to shoulder FFS..
