We can't defend anymore. if you look at games for the last 2-3 years its like running through a crater of space with no real plan or  method of closing down anyone . Keep waiting on an improvement or turnaround but it's all so chaotic. Derry will create goal chances ...if they're willing to take them instead of just kicking over the bar.
3 weeks is long enough for our lads to have put some semblance of organistaion into marking and defending but it dosn't look like its a priority with bonnor and rochford.
Big game form Langdon needed tomorrow.

GAA Discussion / Re: NFL Division 1 - 2020

Mayo always seem to find a way to stay in the 1st division ......sometimes with the last kick of the ball on the final day. I really wouldn't bet against them doing the exact same this year as well...i really wouldnt. My poor wallet will testify to that!

I'm only seeing it now and only highlights . There wasnt that much in it although as a whole mayo deserved it for the agressive attitude.
As O' Sea righlty points out we didn't put a hand on mayo to stop them in any defensive cohesive manner. Thats ok if your taking most of your kicking opportunities ...but that certainly didn't happen.
You;d hope there will be a lesson learned for the next time we play mayo but it seems like groundhog day everytime we've played them in recent times.
Anyway Andy moran is some man for one man..... he always does particularly well against us too

In Fairness Mayo have had the voodo sign over us in recent years .. since that all ireland. Sent us down to division two last year too (although ironically that seemed to have helped us get a few younger lads into the team and was probably a good thing in the end).
In those games they just played smarter football than us coupled with us not really being able to adapt to any sort of plan b. I think maybe we've become a little more versitile in this last while but who knows.
Mayo up and down this year ,they;ve unearthed a few talented young sharp shooters themselves and Horan is a good manager.

I guess we won't really know what the injury list actually is until team news on the day but i think we can struggle on with or without Mcbreaty but sure in these types of games.... a penalty here or a sending off there good be the telling factor.
If Donegal win it would be better for us if Kerry top the group cause i think the group winners will more than likely play tyrone and here in Donegal were sick of playing tyrone...  and im pretty sure the feelings mutual

Yea but if you read any articles on rte or bbc all the pundits tip tyrone.......specically theyre running counter attacking

Im happy with the way we play this year . I like what Declan is doing and i can safley say i enjoy watching us play (for a change). I think the overall skill level is and will keep improving . Guys are being allowed to improvise and kick the bloody ball instead of handpassing it up the field and if by consequence this means we are are lttle more lax in defending i personally dont care.
Looking at the possible line ups i think its fair to say Tyrone have a good bill of health and a few different options to cahnge things up whereas we are missing one or two big players but in fairness any number of guys can have a big game and step up.

Fermanagh did us a favour by beating Monaghan and we have had an unexpected canter through Ulster followed by a day out at croke park taht certainly didn't dent or damage us and that was a decent workout for this current squad , I think people want to see a good cleanly contested game and a decent advert for Ulster football but that all depends on how defensive managers want to get seeing the ocassion but that would be at odds with what either team is trying to achieve imo.

I used to care about jinxing results at that sort of nonsense but i no longer care about that sort of thing. I think we we still have a few more 'wise old heads' in our squad than the current Tyrone and there will be no lack of effort shown in Ballybofey and i think we will win by 1 or 2 points .

Inevitable this group would come down to a ding dong in ballybofey. We've had the easiest road through ulster in many a year .

I think the winner will play Galway as i expect Monaghan to win the other group ( just my opinion).
Murphy will need to keep his cool as he will be targeted big time but i think we can still score enough without him thankfully

Fair play to Kerry ..both teams . That was a great match

Alot of hand passing here from Kerry ..

Hard to see a 'Femanagh' style comeback here from Kerry.....there being nuturalized and mutered and there dosn't seem to be a plan B or a change of gear in em

With a bit of belief Moaghan can win this... its all it takes
#13
Yea..... difficult match. If the Rossies get off to a good start with the crowd behind them it could be  a difficult afternoon. Id like to think we can extend our championship for another week at least though

Some sharp shootng from our young lads this year ....whether they can replicate that at Croker remains to be seen. If they can manage a goal or two it'll make it interesting anyway.

We play more attacking football now than uder jim. Jim wouldn't have tolerted our defensive displays for the last two years at all. We also tried alot harder to play attacking football against tyrone than they did against us ....Jim wouldn't have allowed that either
