The anti Northern feeling will become evident from those in the south for this game. They'll hide behind various things but the truth is that many down south can't take it when a Northern team (including Donegal) beats them. It's because of a media campaign that poisoned southerners minds into having a mistrust of northerners.
You see the mindset replicated when it comes to Gaelic Games. Tyrone win a few All Irelands and it's all puke football. Dublin and Kerry win All Irelands in a similar fashion but no word about puke football. When Meath were standing on players heads they were known as a tough, manly team. When any Northern team played physically they were dirty tramps.
Most in the south will want Meath to win this game, the only reason for this is their hatred of northerners. They can't admit to this but it's the truth. Let them hide behind all the excuses they want.
I hope Tyrone batter Meath.

sorry to burst your bubble there but meath are a lot more hated than Tyrone. were one of the only counties with atleast 4 or 5 neighbours around us who absolutely hate us( Dublin, Louth, Kildare, Westmeath) they would love nothing better than to see meath lose. In Croke park on Sunday Kildare and Dublin fans were cheering for Westmeath nearly as if they were their own, they also didn't hide their delight in slagging the meath supporters after the match and ''id rather be a paki than a royal' was also sang a fair few times by them throughout the day and night. Not only would our lovely neighbours want to see us lose to Tyrone there would be a fair few other counties in the south, Mayo being top of the list that would love to see Tyrone beat meath out the gate.

i heard that donal keogan may be a doubt for sunday, not sure how true this is but if it is then we have little hope of winning, I cant remember meath ever being so unlucky with injuries

terrible news about mickey newman being out for the game, we're very unlucky with injuries this year, any idea who will replace newman?

How bad are Antrim. That's a pathetic showing against a mediocre Meath team. Not a hope they'll beat Monaghan in the last round. Many thought them an up and coming team but seems they are as bad as ever.

in fairness Meath played well today and were well up for this match. on our day we are a lot better than Antrim so its no big surprise that we won. of course Antrim wern't helped by the sending off either but in general we would have a better team than Antrim and we showed that today.

i think donegal will be winning sam again next year.. jim has a four year plan and theyre only on year two so i dont think them players will be havin any sort of a break for the next two years, god knows theyll probly get even better next year.. i havnt always liked the way donegal played but i have huge respect for jim, even hearing him talking at the homecoming tonight, he seems like a great motivator and the way he was talking i say hes nearly already planning next year.

i think meath have improved since the leinster final, its interesting that brian cody talked to them the other day, hopefully it will have a good affect on them. i actually think we will win.

how did it make things easy for dublin when tyrone, tipp and roscommon were knocked out? the way people say that you'd think those teams nearly just chose to lose, They were beaten by better teams!! that tyrone team is very good yet meath get little or no credit for beating them, especially after losing the leinster final and then to beat a team like tyrone two weeks later. meath being 7/1 is a mad price and i think it will be alot closer than people think.

where did brian farrell come? i wouldve thought he was better at taking frees than joe.

well sure mayo had the chance to go up and score when they caught the line ball but they then kicked it to a meath player so i dont really think they can complain about that to be honest.

i never said the penalty wasnt a big decision? i said that the sideline ball wasnt because alot of people were giving out about that, that it should have been a free but it didnt actually have a big effect on the goal we got.

jesus its mostly the mayo people who are saying we deserved to win it and everyone else just talking about the referees decisions  ??? yeah they were bad calls but things like that happen in every game. and people talking about the sideline ball that was meant to be a free, well yeah it should have been but yous might want to go and look at it again because mayo actually caught it and then they kicked it up the field and gave it to a meath player so we didnt directly get the goal from that so i actually thought it was unfair for rte commentators to make a big deal about that, the mayo manager was right beside where it happened and even he didnt make a big deal out of it. the same goes for the other goal if it was that bad of a decision the mayo players would have been giving out and they weren't really.

GAA Discussion / Re: Cork v Donegal Semi Final

i think if donegal score a goal then they will win, because if they get a goal and are winning then id imagine they will shut up shop and make cork score from distance and when your playing donegal even when they are leading by 2 or 3 points its very hard for the other team to get back into it so cork will need to make sure donegal dont score a goal or get a good lead early on.

yeah i agree dublin were the better team, i think they are the best team left and whether meath or mayo get to the final id still expect dublin to win, but meath are a better team than they showed that day in croke park. i think they showed against tyrone that they are a good team so hopefully they can play like that again tomorrow.
