Shootings and slash hook attacks at Smithfield horse fair

Surely this has to lead to the closure of the horse fair.
Gardaí have to deploy 7 times the amount of personnel to cover this event than they normally would for a similar sized event - mounted police, public order unit, air support etc all required.
And they still manage to shoot two people and seriously injure another with a slash-hook

part of heritage/ culture, ethnic minorities, small number of people bringing down our good name, right to trade here been doing it for 500 years, etc. There were nine times the usual Garda presence for this type of event on duty including the Garda helicoptor, public order unit, mounted Gardai and dog units, all this for a horse fair. GTFO, if Rangers and Celtic were playing a match there to decide the SPL, there wouldn't need to be many more Garda on duty. Time for it to end, horses, guns, slash hooks in a center city location. Madness. Not to mention animal welfare and the cost of the clean up to the tax payer, which none of the profits made at the fair go to, it is farily safe to say.
