That said Armagh did beat Galway in 2003.

Not in the championship.

Quite correct. I must be doting. Apologies.

Well at least that latest indo offering from Sweeney isn't as libellious as his previous great insight into the Armagh mindset.
That's just, like your opinion man.

In fairness to sports journalists writing Phil Space style, at least they aren't as bad as all the finance hacks who recycle corporate PR guff.
900 words on Armagh of the early 00s - must have been a slow sunday.

You don't remember it?  It caused a bit of discussion here at the time so there's probably a thread somewhere on it.

Yes, Galway came out of a long period when a Connacht team hadn't won and were a good team, but even in 2001 it was Armagh who gave them their hardest game. Armagh's success was the extra motivation needed to get Tyrone over the line, this meant that Kerry had some hard competition and had to refine their style as a consequence,  Tyrone's emergence also contributed to Armagh not getting the 2nd or 3rd AI that they should have won.

Would like to think they would try for the 2nd before the 3rd?

armaghniac

Spot on Tysam, they would indeed have won their second before trying for a third.

Ahem. Roscommon actually beat us in the Connacht championship that year. ;D
