I was standing quite close to the incident when it happened and I have to say there are a few players on both sides who are lucky to escape suspensions.

I see 12 Players have received suspensions from The Ballymacnab V Stewarstown incident.  Any one any ideas why some bans were for nine months whereas others were only a month.  How exactly did they come up with those numbers?

What was the first name of Ryan McMenamins solictor when he appealed the suspension he got from the Ulster Final replay in 2005.  I can remember his surname was Logan but my mind is blank as to his first name

I never liked the idea of the Ulster final beeing moved but if there going to bring it back to Clones they should announce that now as otherwise it might be seen as a slight on the teams involved espically if neither of them are Armagh

Kevin is the VP for Clubs and Services and is therefore eligable to play, no idea about Dan McCartan

That wasnt my understanding but I have asked a number of inter county referees that I have been interviewing recently and have gotten both answers so I guess its down to the referee in charge

Mac Eoghain

This is the question I was trying (badly) to ask earlier in the thread.  If its not illegal to solo the ball whats the difference as far as the rule book is concerned in a player catching his own miskick?  My understanding was once a free kick was kicked from the hand it was deemed taken unless the referee had been imformed the kick was to be taken from the ground.

GAA Discussion / Enniskillen Gaels
November 18, 2006, 12:43:37 PM
I am doing a project about how the DRA is supposed to be removing the high court from Irish sport but I know see from Hoganstand that Enniskillen Gaels are threatening legal action, can anyone fill me in on any details about this?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Also if any Enniskillen Gaels members could contact me that would be very helpfull.  Sorry if this is covered in a topic elsewhere

I have a quick question that despite all the reading of the rule book I have been doing recently for this project I cant find an answer to.  A team is awarded a free kick, the player opts to take it from his hands, the player then kicks the ball and catches it again.  In essence the player has merely soloed it, is this legal and if so can a player kick a ball say 10 yards, catch it again before bouncing and be allowed to take the free kick again?  Im not trying to be smart with this, this is something I have wondered about.
