Quotef you hate smoking stay at home

W**king is also legal and more popular than smoking, but I don't see why it should be allowed in pubs. But then an NI fan, even a fake one, wouldn't be big into other people's rights.

This is a tough group, Donegal and Mayo still have every chance of being in the top 4, most likely with Tyrone and Kerry. The larger urban centres are due for the drop methinks.

QuoteSure there will b televised hulring games from all over the county when the league starts ..

yes, but most of them will be during daylight. Still are the lights at Casement etc not good enough for hurling on TV.

Good joke, but we don't need it twice in a new thread.

Not sure if smoking makes you "look hard", it might suggest you were dense though!

Emigration is hardly new and people will want to travel the world, even if they might play win an AI medal by staying at home. As to meaningful competitions, the fact is that that the majority of clubs do not have anyone on county teams, most of the cancellations of games etc are for other reasons entirely. You can't just say that inter county players should simply play more games than everyone else. Some lateral thinking is needed to allow players of lesser standard get regular games in the good weather, even if these are street leagues etc.

QuoteKerry, Tyrone, Armagh have all had as many games on the hollow turf of croke as dublin in championship during this period.

Not only have they had more games, but they've played better than Dublin too.

QuoteAs for letting O'Driscoll, Duff etc etc onto Croke i have no problem with this becuse it was voted for by the members of the GAA (not just Dublin). This may not be the case come the next vote, but for the meantime as a member of the GAA i support the decision taken by congress.

Exactly.

never kickt a ball was right, they do look different and there's no nets!

QuoteWe're well capable of raising our game to beat one of them, but I'm not convinced we can reach the level needed to beat both.

The draw means that if Donegal do it they will deserve it. Probably they could squeeze through with one great game against Armagh/Tyrone and one flukey win.

GAA Discussion / Re: Armagh V Kildare
February 04, 2007, 06:21:44 PM
Good crowd in Newbridge on a ground that will shortly be demolished, perhaps we could buy the stand and put it somewhere in Armagh. Kildare were full of beans and came at Armagh in waves, this often resulted in a free, which Doyle knocked over. Kildare had a couple of half chances for a goal, but McKinney was well positioned. Except for a period towards the end of the first half Armagh couldn't get the ball up to the Kildare 45, having little success with kickouts and not much idea what to do even if they did win the ball. Mackin and Swift swapped places for a while, without much effect and Paul Keenan came on for Dyas (I think). There were some sad give aways of the ball by Armagh and neither side will win awards for accuracy. Big Joe seemed a bit agitated about the whole thing.

Tyrone's finishing poor, they will regret that if Dublin stay ahead.

Coverage is started on Setanta now at 6pm. The main lights aren't on yet, but there seems to be quite a few in the stands! There are some kids from each county with flags lining up to parade, it must be cold for them.
