Seafoid, as you mention it, Celtic FC only last week announced the formation of the Ex Players Association, with membership open to anyone who has played even a single first team game for the club. The idea is to meet regularly, organise functions (from which revenue streams could materialise) and help each other out at times of difficulty etc. An excellent idea and one that all football clubs should replicate and facilitate.

Celtic use a lot of former players as matchday hosts, or on  Celtic TV, or as Club ambassadors. In fact someone high up in the club recently told me that they are going to struggle big time to fill such roles when the 60s and early 70s generation of players (99% Scottish) eventually go to their eternal reward, as it's unlikely Larsson and Comapny will travel from abroad to act as hosts.

They're not all doing so well, Cadete on the dole and back living with his folks

What sort of a crowd is likely to show up in Tuam? Surely Enniskillen or even Cavan would have drawn better crowd.

Didn't take long, at least they have been given a yellow card for it. Could go either way now.

Fermanagh team named:

C Snow, J Woods, C Cullen, C Quigley, D McCusker, R McCluskey,T Daly, E Donnelly (capt), R O'Callaghan, L Cullen, R Jones, C Jones, P McCusker, B Cox, T Corrigan

Great to see the Cullen twins playing.  Represent Belnaleck.  One of the smallest clubs in Fermanagh and have been doing some great work at underage.  Have moved from playing Reserve football to now playing Intermediate football.  Great to see.

Very inexperienced team with 6 players making there national league debut.
That team must be one of the youngest teams Fermanagh have ever fielded.  Probably only Clucker, Woods, Donnelly, C Quigley and Snow over 25.  Baptism of fire for alot of those young players.

No choice but to go with these young players, and I really hope they can step up a level, but it could be a long hard League. Fear the worst in Breffni Park tomorrow night. Cavan -6 at 10/11 looks too good to miss out on.
We lost to Cavan three times in the 2013 Championship when we were the strongest we could be and really well prepared. Now we are considerably weaker and Cavan still look to be on an upward curve. Think they will win Ulster in the next five years

I would say this was pretty deliberate by the Impartial Reporter as a bit of free advertising, they would have known full well how it was going to turn out

They have been doing this type of thing for a year or two now, as shown on BBC documentary on Impartial Reporter behind scenes during G8 - where it was dull as dishwater with no real response online. You may be giving them a little too much credit, though they are thanking their followers and readers for making it an online hit.

#askTUV Worth a search on Twitter. Jim Allister decided to allow the Impartial Reporter to stage an interview via twitter users using that hashtag. It has descended, predictably, into farce and is now one of the top trending topics in the UK

So you'd trust one Down man more than 3000+ people on Tripadvisor!  ::)

The problem with the 3000 - apart from the fact there are 300 of them to read - in Tripadvisor is that they all say very different things and contradict each other wildly.
You have no idea who is writing them or what agenda they have, so yes I don't really trust it/them. If that's ok.

Thanks for all the advice, will try to book into that hotel 5 Sams and the bike tour sounds ideal for a short break.
Hard to trust and recommendations and reviews on trip advisor.

Some great advice in here, but have chosen Berlin as city break destination in early April and was looking for more specific tips.
There seems to be thousands of hotels, anyone recommend any in particular in Berlin? Value and location probably key.

We also acknowledge the players who have not made the panel at this time and thank them for their
effort and commitment throughout the trials. Rest assured that the management team will continue
to monitor matches throughout the season and that the panel is always open for those who show
the correct attitude and effort for senior inter-county football.

Anyone who wanted to attend could be sent by their clubs so wouldn't read too much into that list. St Pat's and Teemore noticable by their absence totally.
Rumour has it Mickey Linden will be part of backroom team also but hasn't been confirmed. Bound to appeal to the players that one.
