Christy Ring used to wear a cap. Does that count?

I remember Matt Ruth's, or was it Dicky O'Hara with the horrible goldy coloured round yoke, and Paddy Deleany, John Fenton and Kevin Hennessy with the hockey helmets. I wouldn't know who was the first though, but the were all early 80s/late 70s.

On further investigation, it appears Donal Clifford from Glen Rovers in Cork wore first helmet in 1969, well, hes first recorded wearer.
