We should all pick a team NOW and post it and see how much it deviates from the real one come November - it will be an intersting exercise and will probably prove once again that the majority of all Stars are picked in Croke Park during August and September.

full back

Midfield will be Ryan & Dara, unless Dublin win the AI.
If this is case there is a possibility 10/12 jackeens could get one

For what its worth:

Cluxton

Lynch
AN Other
AN Other
O Se
O Mahoney
Young

O'Se
Ryan

Forde
Brogan
Meehan
Clarke
Donaghy
AN Other

Is Marc O'Se out of the running at this stage ???? Last years player of the year !

Finnian Moriarty ?

From our lot I guess Meehan and Joyce are the big two. PJ had a fantastic Connacht championship but had an average enough game against Kerry. Not bad but not great either.

Meehan had a relatively quiet Connacht championship but gave possibly the individual display of the year against Kerry.

Another who I think might be worth a nomination is Finian Hanley who had a fantastic game in the Connacht final and who seems to handle Kieran Donaghy better than any other full-back out there. Strangely enough Leitrim's Declan Maxwell seems to always give him a hard time but he can handle Donaghy.

Personally I thought John Keane's display against Alan Brogan was as good a corner back display as I've seen and should merit an all star. On the flip side not sure Alan Brogan deserves on yet - a good game in a tight match should get him one though. I have a sneaky feeling he could clean Tyrone out so might be more deserving of one post saturday...

Thought Finnian Hanley looked useful enough too and may be as good a FB as there is at the moment.

Lynch is a good player but wouldn't be convinced about him getting an All Star even at this stage !

No Clarke ???
I would say he deserves one over Joyce & Woods

What about the Bradleys from Derry ?? No room for them ? National League champs ??????

Bogball XV

Hanley might be the full back call if Cork get knocked out next day, I don't know that Forde deserves one this year, imo the likes of Barry has probably been more important for wexford - forde is a great player, but he's not as instrumental to wexford this year.
As for poor Derry, doc and paddy bradley will get nominations, maybe mmcusker and possibly eoin bradley too, but I fear that will be all.

Hardy

Semi-finalists will nearly always get at least one. If journalists are giving one to Wexford, who do you think will  get it? Also, rightly or wrongly, beaten quarter-finalists don't get All-Stars.

DUBSFORSAM1

David Henry has to be in with a great chance from Dublin..

Bogball - Forde 1-5 yesterday and 0-7 against Fermanagh even when not fit is nearly good enough to deserve a place...

GalwayBayBoy

Shane Ryan must be in with a good shout of an All-Star.

Must admit I never thought I'd type that sentence. ;D
