Obviously not. Benny just had an off day...

Uladh, why do you keep going on and on and on about how great Armagh are on the DOWN V OFFALY thread?????????

Mourne Rover

It could be argued in some respects that McKeever is precisely the kind of defender which Down need. He negated Benny, and the best team plainly won on the day as a result. However, it is a question of whether or not you want to be associated with his approach. In many ways, I would prefer to accept that Down lost the match but stand by the way we play the game.

centre 3/4s

Sad news about The Doyler, going to be a big miss for Down against Offaly  and for the rest of our march to Croker this year! Cant see who could replace him possibly bring John Clarke back to centre half. Hopefully season dosen go over in a whimper after the great effort put in so far.. By the way Uladh sice you have always so much to say about Armagh could you not lend a few of those words to that new manager of yours ( McDonnell ) Never heard as much shite talk in a post mach interview in all my days, the best being, RIDING THE DONKEY TOO CLOSE TO THE TAIL....ah only in armagh!!!  ::) ;D

Wind yer neck in
What did you actually do with your time before Gaelic Football was invented in 2002?

Mourne Rover

The loss of Doyle is a hammer blow for the team, but it is particularly tough on the player. He has had injury after injury over recent years, worked really hard to get himself somewhere close to his best and then goes down with serious ligament trouble when no one is near him.

He captained both St Colman's to a Hogan Cup and Down to a minor all Ireland, and was then player of the tournament when UUJ won a Sigerson, so you would have to wonder if he played too much football too soon and is now paying the price

Replacing him will be tough, but I would definitely go for Ambrose. He defended brilliantly in Omagh, and tracked back very effectively in Clones as well. He may not be a natural CHB, but there is no obvious alternative in the squad and he is fully capable in growing into the role.

Any thoughts on who will take over Liam's duty as left footed free taker??

f**k OFF Uladh, act your age & not your shoe size, i wonder will you be slabberbing as much in the middle of September!

Brick Tamlin

Liam didnt captain Colmans to Hogan cup sucess, Declan Morgan (son of Ray) was the captain on that team which incidentally contained alot of leaders all over the field.
