I enjoyed Sinners but it's a reflection of how shit movies are these days that it got so many nominations.

Surprised DiCaprio got nominated too. Just a standard performance from him. I haven't saw any of the films up for Best Actress so can't comment on that.

I was actually surprised that One Battle after another got Best Picture, but then maybe I shouldnt have been?  I just didnt think the film was spectacular.  Sean Penn rightly deserved best supporting actor as he was the best thing about the film IMO.

When I look at the nominees for best picture though, I of course cant really complain too much as some I havent yet seen.

Jessie Buckley gave the best performance I have seen this year and thankfully swept the awards everywhere. Mescal shouldnt have missed out in a nomination but he wouldnt have been better than Penn.

Good to see some awards for Frankenstein as it was visually stunning.

I'm very poor at articulating art, but for what it's worth, I thought Sinners was excellent and a lot of fun. Good story, fast paced, well acted and a nice post-credits twist.

Thought it was a superior film to OBAA also.

Definitely not as many good films coming out consistently, but those two would be nowhere near a top 5.

Sinners was a good show, nothing extraordinary and is along the same lines as From Dusk till Dawn.

I was excited for OBAA as most DiCaprio films are good, but that was pretty crazy to be honest. Shocked it was nominated and more shocked that it won.
